Okay fair enough. I think the term Paganism puts people off sometimes because they associate it with Witches dancing naked around a bonfire. what's wrong with that? Nothing in my book! Probably most men would agree also. I guess I meant the word itself "Pagan" has a negative connotation. I suspect that Pagans never actually called themselves Pagans. Christians labeled them Pagans. In Rome they were called "Pagani" Thats the root I think. To the Christians it just meant anyone who refused to give up the old ways and convert.

Ruth... I'm still sick. I've been thru 2 courses of antibotics and endless boxes of tissues and bags of cough drops... I'm hoping I'm past the worst but I completely lost my voice

I'm glad you could come by though. I was wondering about you. I have never danced naked around the bonfire, but if it was warm enough I'd do it.

I agree with you Krimsa, I just always hope to maybe add a little more postitive to the term Pagan or Wiccan. I know it's seen as such a negative but I like to stomp out the ignorance wherever I can

It's really not that far of a stretch from Catholism and witcraft if you ask me. Catholics are very ritualistic as well.

They are. All that incense and they often have gardens dedicated to the virgin. Those crazy hats the pope wears. They are the least removed from the Pagans. Mary is clearly the Goddess. Symbolic of her at least. I heard one of the Christians complaining about that on a thread. He felt the Catholics were wrong to acknowledge Mary. Thats because they associate it with Paganism and a throw back to that.

Christianity, especially Catholism were really founded on Paganism.

Its probably more complicated.
