Today is the Dark Moon. It's a very good time to write down anything you want to get rid of and burn it in your cauldron. I can't burn my family in the cauldron Wanna bet? As is, I'm up to it, just show me how to. |

As is, I'm up to it, just show me how to. Well, what I would do is burn their ability to hurt/anger/frustrate you. Write down exactly what it is they do to you and burn that. It's the power they have over your emotions that needs to go. Or you can hunt them down one at a time, tie them up and burn them in your cauldron, but you will need a very large cauldron and some rubber gloves. |

I got to say that after having read the "Mists of Avalon" (which was a truthful portrayal of Druidic culture) and having been versed in many other patheons and mythos like Greek, Japanese, Egyptian, and a whole lot of others there are always similar themes that all seem to be patterned around.
In India as well as a couple other religions men are creators and women destroyers. Kali was supposed to be real bad news. In Christianity there has been two thousand years of woman bashing and how MAN is supposed to be in dominion of the earth and Bla Bla Bla! (Raised as a Christian but turned my back on it because of its hypocrisy and lies). Personally I think God itself as a consciousness and thinking being is the universe we are in as well as other things past what we can perceive as what we call our universe. The planet we occupy also possess its own intelligence and it would be fitting to call this presence the Earth Mother. Women are the ones who give birth. Life in itself would not be as we understand it without the planet we are on but likewise the seeds of life had to be planted somehow. All life on this planet has a common heritage and all life on this planet is intertwined in a wide variety of relationships both beneficial and not. Life itself is always seeking to improve on its designs and each life form has had its moment on the top. For as much as people would like to disagree if you look into our genetic structure you will find the traces of worm genetic codes within ours. Granted this seems weird but we all share an empathy with our surroundings to one degree or another. This empathy develops over time as we pass through the stages of our lives but likewise our perceptions of this empathy change. To see the Goddess as three women is not an unfair assumption since the three fates of Greece were likewise a young, an adult, and a crone holding the string of fate as it passed though their fingers. Much knowledge was lost thanks to the ignorance of the Catholic Church and the concept of the Goddess wholly misunderstood. The Goddess is life and death. She is change and also knowledge. She is the teacher. We are her children, man and woman alike. We are willful and some think they are above her but in reality the Goddess wins in the end always. We are the destroyers. Unfortunately without guidance our children are destructive. Mankind is in a precarious place in our evolution because not only are we still innately destructive we are likewise armed with powers that are the stuff of Gods. The Goddess is like the Buddha. She is in all of us. She is what will be, what is, and what was. We all try to represent her somehow. The question is not what we do to glorify her. The question is what we do with the gifts she gave us. Besides, Pagan was a term used to express any religion other than Catholicism. I'm a proud pagan and much happier for it! It is refreshing to see others with opinions and religious beliefs that are not mainstream or involve holy war or beating others into submission or gathering flocks. I sure don't feel woolly enough to be a sheep but thick headed enough to be a goat! Keep reaching for higher understanding!! |

Word of caution invoking dark forces. Everything comes with a price and well frankly if I was one of those dark forces I would be screwing everyone who asked me to do bad to someone with their wishes just to be impartially evil.
Yes family can be your own worst enemy BUT sometimes you have to do the dirty work yourself. Sometimes the better plan is to put distance between yourself and those that antagonize you. If they pursue you and you let Demogorgon or Pazuezu loose on them (and if you did that successfully I personally would be extremely impressed) then they had it coming but what if that unleashed hell on earth. Yeah you get what you want but what is victory when you cannot enjoy it when the planet is torn apart? Also bad wishes can back fire on you. There are things behind the scenes of Good and Evil many people miss. In theory, just because the devil exists does that mean he is out to destroy everything or does he act cooperatively with God to maintain the balance? When using or invoking Power Archane you have to be very careful not to have it backfire on you! This wisdom was shared with me by a practicing black witch and I know for a fact she was the real deal. |

I don't think any of us ever called on dark forces. I know I didn't. I rather try positive spells on myself than hurtful spells on others.

I knew a black witch and she did on a few occasions. As she got older she decided to use evil in the name of balance rather than self gain but she knew the price she had to pay. She told me a lot about her practices and this was at a time when I was attending a Christian School. I began to get a clearer understanding of the world around me thanks to her. Good and evil exist for a purpose. We are placed in between because we are gifted with freedom of choice. A good God and an evil God have no choice. They must act upon their natures. In that both are stagnate and unchanging.
From her I began to understand that I in myself possess certain capacities and I know for a fact I have astral projected once on accident. I also have predicted incidence accurately from dreams and prior to my mom getting her second divorce I had a bad feeling from over 1200 miles away something was wrong with her and called her to ask if everything was OK with her. I wish to god I could train but I would have to change a lot about my life but then again there was one thing that really bothered me about my dreams. Either they were predictions or like living past lives when they came off like more run of the mill dreams but what really bothered me was the weird ones. I think if I had real power like many seek though wiccan I would misuse it. For example: I love a woman that does not love me so I whip up a love potion and feed it to her and I get what I want. After marriage I find out later she is everything I despise and have a kid by her as well. Not only did I screw up my life because I am married to a woman I could not stand now and the kid who has to live in the shadow of the impending dysfunction. The real power comes from within us. I have noticed two flavors of Wiccans out there. One flavor worship the Goddess and Nature (although I did a long time ago run into a real Death Priestess and she was nothing like I would have expected, another life lesson here). The other flavor try to harness and control forces. You know that whole argument that with great power comes responsibility? I have a feeling for as much good as I would want to do with my power provided I had any to speak of really I think I would do a lot of bad in the name of good. I see that as the same quandary God would have and the whole human ideal of divine intercession. If God were constantly helping us it would take away our freedom of choice. If we cannot make mistakes we cannot learn from then we have no free choice. We could keep screwing up without regard of the consequences because it would not be right or wrong because everything that gets screwed up is fixed. Could you imagine if one person though use of special power were to impose themselves upon the world? Real practitioners of the various arts definitely do not refer to themselves as masters of anything. Besides not one single person has a clue to what God is or anything else lurking past our senses. It is wrong to take the Cristianic stance of ignore what you do not understand. Understanding is what brings us one step closer to God! Understanding is Freedom! Freedom is Life and a free life is Living! That and a bag of Bar Ba Que Ruffles would be good about now! Like Lay's Potato chips, ya can't eat one... |

Actually a flat piece of black Basalt stone or one shaped into a bowl is acceptable. Metal in its own right does prepare a proper focus like iron which is highly magnetic BUT in many instances at least when invoking the element of earth (which metal is of) the cauldron acts as a sort of focus or lens and stone is less refined so it is more "earthly." The smoke rises into the plane of air invoking the influence of the element of air. Fire used to consume the paper prayers is invoking the element of fire. The paper prayers themselves are of the element of earth but since it is derived from a living source also adds the element of life (the fifth element! Like the movie which was campy but cool!)Oddly water is left out in these rituals so what you are seeking to do by my guess is a fire ritual. An odd exception is that in one purity right I am aware of the tears of a virgin were required to be spilled into a fire of holly in a BRONZE brazier. Guess where the element of water came from. I suspect that any flat stone for fire based rituals will work fine but for some reason Basalt being a volcanic stone harbors special and a lot of times overlooked properties.
It also might help to have a finger long piece of Quartz crystal available. It is a focusing agent and might help a lot. I have to wonder if I was a medicine man in a former life... |

Okay fair enough. I think the term Paganism puts people off sometimes because they associate it with Witches dancing naked around a bonfire. |

I'm going to go move it to the last post so people can find us. Hey gorgeous! Are you feeling better? We all decided it just wasn't us. I mean, none of are Wiccan. I was kind of sad to see it go, too. I was kind of proud of starting it and having it go so long. But, nothing stays the same and this describes all of us a lot better I think. |
