Topic: Witchcraft and Shamanism | |
---|---|
An alive spirit would be a spirit of someone who is currently alive. A dead spirit would be the spirit of a person who has died. Although, it's a bit of a misnomer to refer to a spirit as being dead since spirit cannot die. Okay, I thought that was what you meant but I wasn't sure. Yep, I'm writing a book on it. In fact, two books, because I truly see Witchcraft and Shamanism as two entirely different concepts, related, yet distinctly different. I need to write a Book of Shadows for each concept seperately to avoid the massive confusion that would be created if I attempted to combine them into one. I rest my case. |

James is a good instructor though. He used to do that as a profession I do believe so hes very adept at explaining difficult concepts in an easy to understand manner. He kind of breaks everything down. Ive learned a lot from him and he's only just new to Witchcraft and Shamanism himself but he's so very diligent about keeping records of everything he is doing and reporting on it. He's a Gemini also and thats one of their attributes.

Thank you for your warm welcomes in the other thread.
I've been in the other forums and have done nothing but stirred trouble...Go figure Anyway since the thread seems more apropriate, I want to share something with you all. This is something that was written many years ago by an unknown author. I'm quite sure that many of you have either read it somewhere or can at least relate to it... To be a Witch To be a witch is to love and be loved. To be a witch is to know everything, and nothing at all. To be a witch is to move amongst the stars while staying on earth. To be a witch is to change the world around you, and yourself. To be a witch is to share and give, while receiving all the while. To be a witch is to dance and sing, and hold hands with the universe. To be a witch is to honor the gods, and yourself. To be a witch is to BE magick, not just perform it. To be a witch is to be honorable, or nothing at all. To be a witch is to accept others who are not. To be a witch is to know what you feel is right and good. To be a witch is to harm none. To be a witch is to know the ways of old. To be a witch is to see beyond the barriers. To be a witch is to follow the moon. To be a witch is to be one with the gods. To be a witch is to study and to learn. To be a witch is to be the teacher and the student. To be a witch is to acknowledge the truth. To be a witch is to live with the earth, not just on it. To be a witch is to be truly free! ~author unknown |

James is a great guy...I knew exactly what you meant with what you said. If I remember correctly he actually said something one time that made me rethink a reaction to what someone had said about a post I made. I don't remember if it was in this forum or an old one we were on together. I'm not willing to go through over 500 posts to find out either |

Thank you! I had read this before but never printed it out. Now I have it. You're very welcome. I'm waiting to get my flair back into my calligraphy, and then I'm going to use my india inks and put it on parchment and then frame it. I have it in my book of shadows just as a reminder. There are times I'd like to do something against the rules, but this always stops me from doing that |

I hope neither he nor anyone else took my comment as an insult. I like James very much and he is a very good teacher. Well, I most certainly didn't take any offense to it. Owl be the first to confess that I'm very academic and analytical. I also type way too much in my posts. I've been writing on my Book of Shadows tonight and it's definitely going to become a novel. There is so much to share! And as I see it, this is one of the purposes of writing a Book of Shadows in the first place. However, you have made me realize that I'm better off typing there than here. |

I have absolutely no artistic talent, but I like the idea of printing it out on parchment and framing it. |

We're not that far from each other at all...Maybe we'll have to get together and pick each others brain about our various experiences. You're invited too James if you get over to our part of the world |

He can be a long winded poop head also. We all know that about James. |

Im often in General Religion aka "The War Room" starting trouble with Christians. Its not that I really go out of my way to insult them but I have a sarcastic nature and I make jokes and they dont approve. Most of the time I try to honestly debate with them and they refer to that as "bashing." Its really only jousting at windmills in the end. I dont know if you are familiar with the story of "Don Quixote." Its just this fictitious tale about this man who has a very vivid imagination and believes that windmills are actually murderous giants. Thats what he imagines them to be in his mind so thats where the expression "jousting with windmills" comes from. Thats what endless argument with Christians on forums amounts to essentially. You are better off here because at least this discussion is constructive. |
