Huh? They have excavations of the Neolithic. Christianity is the new kid on the block by comparison. You gotta be kidding me. You arent going down that " the earth is only 6000 years old" road are ya? happy

It has always fascinated me that Christians believe the earth is only 6000 years old. It is actually sad if you think about it. What is worse is what are Christian schools teaching to the children?

The other day I just watched a commerical on this that christian scientists come up with the conclusion that the planet is only 6000 years old. I would like to know how they became scientists??

Oh Im sorry. I must have misunderstood you. English is your third language? You speak very well but sometimes I get confused on where you are putting your emphasis. I dont think all Christians are sold on the "young earth" premise and that seems to mainly remain part of the evangelical or fundamentalist lunatic fringe sect. Its part of their belief system because they take the bible literally instead of figuratively or in an analogous view.

If they were forced to accept the discoveries of modern archeology and cultural anthropology, it would mean big trouble for their little belief system. Thats part of the reason why Im not so popular with the fundamentalist Christians on this forum. happy

I have grown up in a Lutheran environment, and I certainly wasn't forced to reject science. On the contrary, we had a youth group where we discussed these things, and our Pastor surely never thumped his bible and said that evolution can't have happened.

What Ruth is saying is that this belief system wasn't seen as a terrible satanistic practice until the Christians labeled it so.

Oh absolutely.

The Christians even stole the idea of the Wicca Horned God and made him into their devil.

In the Wicca tradition the Horned God was assocaited with both nature (this world manifestation), and the "underworld". However, in the Wicca tradition the "underworld" wasn't evil, nor was it beneath the ground. The "underworld" in Wicca actually referred to the spirits of our ancestors. The very term "underworld" meant "FOUNDATIONAL".

It had absolutely no negative meaning at all.

It was the Christians who turned the "underworld" into Hell and the Horned God into their Satan.

The Christians are the ones who distorted and lied.

They purposefully created lies to discourage the Pagans from worshiping any religion outside of their highly authoritarian churches.

So much for God.

The Christians were determined to BECOME GOD!

And that they did.

And they still think they are God today! ohwell

They act like only they can speak for God, and that their religion owns God. No one else is permitted to own God but the Christians.

You either worship the Christians or you are rejecting God.

It's clearly the God that was created by man (not the other way around).

People in this modern age are slowly but surely coming around to realized that they've been duped by a false religion of Mediterranean origin.

Penczak even revealed that some witches believe that Jesus was indeed a witch. They have a lot of good arguments to back up their claim since Jesus did indeed to around doing magick.

He also had a coven of exactly 12 deciples. Precisely what a witch would do! bigsmile

I am sure not all christians believe this, but I find it amazing that even one christian believes the earth is only 6000 years old.

and trust me I know how christians work. MorningSong, Feralcatlady, and rapunzel are but a few that go word by word with the bible. All sweet ladies, but sold by the bible and nothing will change their mind. I don't even try to change their minds. I just say "good for you" and move on.

Yes English is the third language I learned from a total of 5 languages I speak fluently. It is very important to know languages when you travel around alot. I don't do it now anymore, but still fascinate myself with languages. I am learning Mandarin now. I have memorized 80 symbols thus far. I still have a very long ways to go. In order to read a Mandarin newspaper one would have to recognize 2000 symbols.
Yet I know of no one who doesn't understand what I write here on the threads. Most people understand me without a problem, yet sometimes I do get sloppy with my writing when I had a few shots of cognac at night.

Well in the long run yes I am aware of how a Christian thinks. Some are fundamentalists, some are just Jesus followers, some contradict themselves, and some are really nice people.

As far as I understand, even the Catholics accept the Theory of Evolution. The pope was visiting some museum of natural history not to long ago and looking at naked hominids in his big hat. laugh

Christianity is truly absurd.

Historically it has always vehementally argued against every major scientific discovery.

It's arguments have always taken the form, "Science has to be wrong because it conflicts with the word of God! It can't be right, or God's word would be flawed and therefore not be true!"

But in the end it always confesses that science was indeed write, and God's word was indeed wrong, but for some reason it continues to survive just the same.

It's truly silly.

At the very least you'd think they'd learn not to argue with science. The next time science discovers something, instead of arguing with science all they really need to do is change the word of God again. That's what they always end up doing in the end anyway. ohwell

So why do they bother to argue in the first place?

Maybe they hope that one day they will win such an argument?

Whatever the case is for Christians and all of their denominations, I just don't waste my time worrying about them. I rather spend time on interests that can achieve a balance in life that provides happiness and joy. I think we all can agree with this regardless if we have different ways of how to get there.

I hope everyone in the Wicca room finds peace and serenity each day.

We have had a couple Wiccan pass through sporadically and say hello but none of them ever became regulars. So you can pretty much discuss whatever on this thread I would guess although Abra listed some topics if you go back and look on page 1-3 or so. Thats kind of like a guide as to what we are supposed to be discussing but generally it gets :off topic: whoa

I think the general topic is Wicca of course... but since we're all pretty like minded we can feel comfortable talking about...whatever...
