I hope the kids aren't home then.

If they aren't home then the father shouldn't have to pay child support. It seems like you are advocating forcing good hard working men to pay child support to women without children, so that the women can support dead beats who are just with them to take advantage of the women in the first place.

No, I meant if that not working drinking man brings friends home, I hope the children aren't around to see the man and friends drinking. You were talking about that man and I said I hope that the kids aren't home then.

Please don't put words into my mouth. I wasn't advocating anything.

I was being intentionally unreasonable and argumentative and misogynistic because that is how I am portrayed in these forums. I am very disappointed that nobody picked up on the fact that my posts weren't in the least bit serious. Anyways...

'I was ridiculed in the other thread for stating I still grieve over my lost child and was simply told "get over it, move on, you have 3 children now". I sincerely challenge THAT be said to any woman who has aborted and still grieves her "choice" years later.'

~Breathless, it is also a normal reaction for men to grief the loss of a child due to an abortion, especially if you were willing to bring the child into the world and care for it.

I am pro-choice for a number of different reasons.

1. Being that when abortions were illegal women were still having them, and some to fatal consequences.

2. Our society dictates that sex between to consenting adults, regardless of marital status is condoned or looked over, so with that pregnancies that are not planned occur. There are some women that cannot take care of a child for a number of different reasons. (And not to stir a hornet's net, but there are definately some women that should just never be mothers.)

3. I know with myself, I became sexual active at a very young age. If I would have become pregnant, I would have probably had an abortion. However, when I had my son, I made the decision to have him. Now, if I were to have an unplanned pregnacy, I would not have an abortion. However, I definately know what to expect. There are women and girls out there that have no clue what to expect about a pregnancy, cost, and care a child.

4. I also feel that both parents should have a say in the birth of a child. I agreed with past law suits where the male went to court for the female to keep the pregnancy. Pro-choice should also involve the father! But in most situations, be the final decision of the mother.

5. With #4 being said, pregnancy or the chance of pregnancy should be discussed before engaging in sex. Just like you should discuss, protection, reproductive health, and STD tesing.

I am a single mother and I would not wish the pain and struggle that I endure on anyone. However, I would not trade my son or being a single mother for anything in the world. However, I always want the option that if I were to have an unplanned pregnancy in the future, that I would and will always have the option to terminate the pregnancy.

In my hummble opinion. Tanya

If you intentionally act that way, how are people supposed to think otherwise?

This was the first time. I always come out strongly on women's issues (other than abortion) and for children. But if I oppose abortion, then I have to be characterized as a misogynist. That's decidedly unfair and small minded. Is the pivotal issue for women the right to kill their babies? Funny, I thought it was equal pay, equal rights, equal protection under the law...

I'm far more pro-woman than NOW. I'm willing to fight for women's rights even when it's politically incorrect (such as women's rights in Muslim countries) and I'm willing to criticize Republicans when they have done something that violates my code of ethics. NOW came out in support of a president with a long history of abusing and taking advantage of women.

So maybe you should take someone as a whole instead of doing the abortion "litmus test" and declaring all opposed to abortion as misogynists?

I was just asking why you would wonder why people thought something about you if you were intentionally acting that way. That's all. Sure, equal pay, equal rights and equal protection are also things that are very important to women. The right tho choose what they do with their own bodies should be right there along those other things.

You bring up a good point! Ever hear of the '2nd shift' for women. That dispite the fact that women work all day just as long and hard as men they are still expected to do a full time job at home! (and I know better, you are not getting away with this with papersmile)

I know that too well!! Men think their work is done when they clock out. Women know that they work 24/7.
