ok..for those of you who actually had something intelligent to contribute to the thread that just got locked I open the forum up again...

for those of you who wish to insult or threaten other posters...go take a walk, have some ice cream and remember that we are all part of the same human race..except GWB, he´s just a monster...

Aren't you in Argentina? Why don't you start a thread pertaining to your own government's leaders? We would all be happy to join in the discussion. flowers

sure, we can talk about the murderous dictators put in place here by the CIA...oh, wait, but that would be talking about YOUR country again, wouldnt it???

No, that would be your opinion. But go for it. Start the thread and ignore the crickets chirping in the background.
Its not an opinion america does support dictators. Hell we even supported the shaw of Iran and over threw a democraticly elected government to put him in power.

I spent 144 days in the Gulf of Oman during the hostage crisis. Don't even try to tell me YOUR version of what was going on at that time.
Oh please do tell me your version of events I cant wait. and did we not over throw ademocraticly elected government in iran and place the shaw in power? Its a fact we did

iraq LOOKED like a fine country, but saddam was executing kurds throughout his whole time in power, and i know everyone thinks the US intelligence is infallible but it isnt, they just didnt know he was a madman. and syble or whatever your name is. be civil. i was making a point to you. dont insult my patriotism or my country. its not my fault your country is run by a communist. please be respectful of others opinions, i know thats hard for you given where you were born, but try it out.
Your goingto have to show me were I insulted you as I dont see it. SaDDAM BEING A BATHIST was as agrresive against the radical muslims as our government is. SO when we lock them up and torture them its ok but when saddam did it it was bad? I dont get it bro?

And I am afraid you never will get it. You only see what supports your indignation. Everything else including the truth goes out the window.
the truth is Saddam and his government were bathist and was considerd and enemy of Islam. Proove me wrong

Well I understand it's not just about oil, oil is just at the root of everything. Look at Iran, they have had very long and drawn out wars with Iraq. Now if they attack Iraq, we have a reason to depose that nut job ahmadinejad. What the so-called intelligent symbelmyne does not understand is that we americans do not care about her and her very very very corrupt government down there. Our government is kind of like me and my brothers up here in new york, we basically say eff you and there is nobody that will do anything about it. Yes civilians die, it's something that happens in war. However, these people are what allow this to go on. Yes, it is only a minority of zealots over there but that minority has put the fear of god into those people and they continue to do nothing about it. I know she likes to quote george orwell, but I have a quote.

"The only thing necessary for evil to prevail, is for good men to do nothing. -Edmund Burke

For as long as these people don't stand up for themselves and their human rights, they will be murdered, and not by US forces but by the people killing themselves to get to their virgins. These so called martyrs are nothing but cowards, brainwashed by even bigger cowards to do the dirty work for these extremist pigs. I live in the greatest country in the world and I am proud of that fact. Proud that I have people willing to risk their life so I can freely express my views and opinions.
frustrated try to be polite young man !! from what I have noticed you boys are attacking her intelligent s and country and your selves are making opinions not facts ...like the lady says get your history and facts down ..bigsmile drinker

On 2 April 1982, Argentina invaded the Falkland Islands and other British territories in the South Atlantic (South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands). The military junta which had ruled Argentina since 1976 sought to maintain power by diverting public attention from the nation's poor economic performance. They attempted to do this by playing off long-standing feelings of the Argentines towards the islands.[18] British writers hold that the United Kingdom's reduction in military capacity in the South Atlantic also encouraged the invasion.[19][20][21]

The United Nations Security Council issued Resolution 502, calling on Argentina to withdraw forces from the Islands and for both parties to seek a diplomatic solution.[22] International reaction ranged from support in the Latin American countries (with the exception of Chile), to opposition in Europe (with the exception of Spain), the Commonwealth, and eventually the United States. The British sent an expeditionary force to retake the islands, leading to the Falklands War. After short but fierce naval and air battles, the British landed at San Carlos Water on 21 May, and a land campaign followed until the Argentine forces surrendered on 14 June.

Following the war, the British increased their military presence on the islands, constructing RAF Mount Pleasant and increasing the military garrison. Although the United Kingdom and Argentina resumed diplomatic relations in 1989, no further negotiations on sovereignty have taken place.

thank you kerber for the history lesson..the Malvinas have been a point of contention between Argentina and England for a very looooong time...geographically speaking, the Malvinas are part of latin america and england has no business being there... war is hell aint it?? we should have bought our planes and ships from russia instead of from the united states..they would have been in far better condition and maybe we might have gotten our islands back..
see the problem is, when America places a puppet government (in our case, the dictators who were running Argentina at the time of the Malvinas war) those puppets tend to get the idea they are actually in charge and then the US has to take them out again, just like Bush had to do with Saddam....and of course innocent people die, like the millions of Iraqis that are dead now. Argentina attacked an American ally, Saddam attacked Kuwait (another American ally) its sooooo difficult being everywhere at the same time isnt it?

but enough about my country...do you have nothing in defense to say about your president?? side stepping the issue?? Bush, war criminal, was the original post....

The execution of Saddam Hussein's death sentence occurred on December 30, 2006. He was condemned to death by hanging, after being found guilty, and convicted of crimes against humanity by the Iraqi Special Tribunal for the murder of 148 Iraqi Shi'ites in the town of Dujail in 1982, in revenge for an assassination attempt against him. [1]

Saddam Hussein was President of Iraq and (Dictator) from July 16, 1979 until April 9, 2003, when he was deposed with the 2003 invasion of Iraq by U.S.-led Allied Coalition. After his capture in ad-Dawr, near his hometown Tikrit, he was incarcerated at Camp Cropper and on November 5, 2006, he was sentenced to death by hanging.

On December 30, 2006, he was taken to Camp Justice to be put to death. The Iraqi government released an official videotape of his execution, showing him being led to the gallows, and ending after his head was in the hangman's noose. International public controversy arose when a private, anti-Saddam enemy videophone recording of the hanging showed him falling through the gallow's trap door, while shi'a guards chanted slogans against the dictator.

On December 31, 2006, Saddam Hussein's body was returned to his birthplace of Al-Awja, near Tikrit, and was buried in a palace near his family's graves.

so back to reality? what did the US do in 1982 or after about saddams slaughter? why did it take almost 30 years? 1982 was a long time ago. How much aid did america give saddam from 1982 and beyond? this is some wild stuff eh?
