We then walked into the priciples office. My daughter kept interupting saying her rump hurt. I asked her if mommy could judt look to see if there was a bruse. OMG!!!!! THERE WERE F*#@!ing 6 bruses on her rump!!! 3 were as big as half dollars! The other three were smaller . THEY ARE BLACK!!! Well, I WENT CRAZY UP IN THERE! TRY TO PUNISH MY DAUGHTER FOR PROTECTING HERSELF! She said she told him to stop the first time and he laughed. She then told the principle and I both that she told the teacher when this happened , but was told it was not good to be a tattle tale! GOES TO SHOW THAT EVEN WHEN YOUR RIGHT ABOUT TELLING THE TEACHERS SOME JUST DON'T GIVE A ST!T! THIS HAPPENED ON THE PLAY GROUND! THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THE LITTLE BOY HAS DONE THIS. No matter what anyone said you did the right thing!!
If we don't stand behind our kids who will? Just always teach them that no matter what as long as they tell you the truth you will stand behind them. Your actions will say more then any words could. But..... it is very important for you to keep your cool for if you don't then your words will be lost within the yelling and name calling and your point will be lost. Like I said regardless rules are rules but does not mean we agree our kids should sit back and let another child beat them to a pulp in the process. It only means in the end our kids will have to pay the price to defend themselves. As long as mine never started it then I stood strong along beside then for their actions as should any parent.

I usually dont agree that its O K for kids to hit each other but something like this or in the case of a bully, Ya cant hardly tell your kids not to protect themselves!!!!!!!!

My daughter is 6 . She started first grade today. I just got a call from the teacher... Seems that my daughter did not like that another first grader pinched her rump, so as a result she used a bit of Martial Arts on him. The teacher was VERY upset and asked If I condoned this. I said, well that was the MAIN reason I put her in Junior MMA. To PROTECT herself ! Now mind you, she stated to me that he was not in trouble, but now they may punish my daughter. How the HECK can she be in trouble for doing this? I asked if he was bleeding, she said no, that my daughter hit his throat. Which can be fatal if you use too much force. And they are ONLY 6 years old. I am not saying what she did was right, but even still. He started it... Right????  KEEP IN MIND SHE WAS SEXUALLY ABUSED BEFORE SHE CAME TO US!!!! SHE DID FEEL THREATENED IN SOME WAY OR ANOTHER. I had dealt with the same problem last year. I was a Muay Thai Instructor for many years and did semi pro kickboxing for about 14 years. I taught my daughter A LOT! Despite my ex wifes wishes, I taught her discipline with it and she hits hard for a 7 year old...Very hard... A boy backed her in the corner pushing her, and pushing her, and pushing her. She warned him 3 times...After the 3rd time she squared off and hit him right in the nose...Guess what? He finally backed off!  SHe handled it right and the way I would have exactly wanted her to. The teahers saw this and actually commended her on how she handled it....Schools do teach no hands at all, but the problem is that doesnt take presidence over the reality in the streets....Good job

It's a weekly e-newsletter with various news excerpts and reports of administrators with their heads up their butts and zero tollerance punishing the innocent, people doing the genuinely stupid, officials being busted for being naughty, and other things that remind the rest of us how screwed up everyone else is. ;)

I was just going to suggest taking action against the school and then I read your update and alternately cheered that you were doing something and was totally horrified by what the school administrators were allowing to happen by not punishing the boy. My heart breaks for your daughter. I can't even begin to imagine what it's like for a child who's been sexually abused to have something like this happen to her, but I've learned enough about the affects of abuse to know this must have been terrifying for her. Absolutely go to war for her.
I take back what I said previously about talking to your daughter about telling someone instead of hitting, because she did and the teacher *twitchtwitchtwitch* did nothing. I don't think your daughter was in the wrong for defending herself. The next time a guy harasses her, she should just kick him in the nuts. For her sake, I'm glad no serious damage was done to the boy. What else was she supposed to do, tell the teacher again and get yelled at for being a tattletale? It totally burns my ass the teacher actually said that to her. Telling the teacher Bobby is picking his nose is tattling, NOT that Bobby is pinching her butt. If you can, find out who else the boy has attacked and talk to their parents and maybe a bunch of you could sue the school together for failure to deal with a known problem. Write letters to the editor about the school's failure and make noise. |

But she really needs to have some social interaction with other children if she is going to overcome her past problems Homeschooling does not mean kids are deprived of social interaction. There are plenty of opportunities for kids to get out and be with peers, such as afterschool activities, vacation camps, the playground, meeting up with other homeschooled kids, and plenty of other ways. If the kids don't get social interaction, it's because the parents aren't letting them. |
