You claim that I'm rebelling against a natural instinct to know God. But nothing could be further from the truth. I knew God long before I knew religion.

I was taught that the Bible is the "Word of God", but I've discovered that this is a lie. I never felt comfortable with that lie. I didn't rebel against it in the least. It's a lie of mankind. It's not the word of God. I simply discovered the truth.

It's crystal clear that this is the case if you even slightly open your eyes to the truths of Mediterranean mythologies. Just look at them. Do you honestly believe that every Muslim and every Jew knowingly and willfully rejected the Biblical God?

That's utter nonsense.

Clearly, if there is any truth to Christianity, the Catholics are the only one's who hold it. All the protestants who 'protested' against the Catholic Church are the 'rebels' my dear Quicky.

You off in La La land with a bunch of rebels claiming to have the only true word of God and denouncing all the other people as being rebellious. But where's your authority to do that? You have no more claim to authority than the Catholic Church does, or the Jews, or the Muslims for that matter.

All of these religions are nothing more than bigotry gone berserk.

Judaism, Islam, and all of the myriad of confused sects of Christianity, are all the same religion. Yet, all they do is point fingers at each other proclaiming that only they have the true interpretation of God's word.

It's seriously a joke Quicky. The whole godforsaken religion is nothing more than a big joke.

Here we see on these very threads one Christian belittling another Christian simply because they have a differnet understanding of what Jesus might have meant.

TheLonelyWalker Preaches brotherly love for all mankind in the name of Jesus Christ his Lord and Master.

Spider preaches bigotry and prejudice against non-believers in the name of Jesus Christ, and Spider demands vehemently that only his interpretation agrees with what Jesus actually said in the doctrine.

It bigotry gone berserk Quicky.

You see, I was a Christian myself at one time, not unlike TheLonelyWalker. I also embraced brotherly love and peace. But there were too many spiders in the mix for me. Spiders who claimed to be Christians but who demanded bigotry and judgment against non-believers. Their hatred toward non-believers was more than I could stand. And when I spoke out against their hatred they would clobber me over the head with the Bible using all sorts of twisted perversions of verses to justify their bigotry and hatred.

That's not what the Jesus I read about would support. But the fundies insist that Jesus supports bigotry and hatred against the non-believers. The problem is that they can indeed support their bigoted claims by rummaging through the Old Testament and then using Jesus to support those Old Testament views.

When you tell a non-believer that they are being rebellious to God, you are practicing judgmental hatred. You are judging people to be rebellious of God, and accusing them of being rebellious to God is a hateful act.

Where did Jesus ever tell anyone to do that? I've kindly asked Spider to post a verse where Jesus told people to do this. He weaseled his way out of that one like a politician. There is no such verse. Jesus never told anyone to judge others, or accuse them of being rebellious of God. On the contrary he preached the exact opposite.

You can judge me to be rebellious of God until you're blue in the face. That's not going to make it come true. What I denounce is judgmental bigotry and hatred spread in the name of Jesus. If you're going to spread hate and judgment at least do it in your own name. Don't hide behind the cloak of Jesus. ohwell

If you love Jesus so much, wouldn't you wish to understand what he spoke based on your own discovery and not a church's prefabricated interpretation? Why would such a Universal Text be created? No. 1 - Jesus said...I am the way the truth & the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

No. 2 - Are you a Christian? If so then why don't you believe that the Bible is God's word & not something man made?

No. 3 - People can believe what they want but don't impose their views on others by denegrating others who are simply sharing THEIR faith.

It's like some just want to say what they are against.. & others want to say what they are FOR. Christians here are under attack for sharing their faith...what they are FOR, not what they are against.

In truth, we have no clue what Jesus might have said. All we have is hearsay that could very well be intentional demagoguery. In fact, I personally believe that most of it is just that.

I don't believe that Jesus was born of a virgin.

I don't believe that Jesus rose from the dead.

And I certainly don't believe that he died to pay for anyone's sins.

As far as what he supposedly taught according to the gospels, they could have been copying the words of Buddha for all I can tell. Jesus taught basically the very same things. It's like a carbon copy of what Buddha taught. In fact, if Jesus actually did teach this stuff, I would suspect that he learned it from studying the writings of Buddha. He certainly didn't get it from studying the Old Testament. He did a complete about-face from what the Old Testament taught.

I don't believe in the Old Testament's God anymore than I believe in Greek Mythology's Zeus.

Yet I'm not an atheist. I don't need to have a mythology to believe in my creator.

My concern with religion is not a personal concern. It's a concern for humanity as a whole. Just take a look around at all the animosity and political unrest the Mediterranean religions are causing. They are detrimental to humanity.

I personally don't need to define God to believe in God. God is what God is. There's no need to define God.

QS, I apologize for sounding attacking of your faith. That was not intended.flowers I can completely see how it could be taken that way.

1 - I believe Jesus to have been the living example of humankind (all sons and daughters) and that through his words he communicated to the simpler thought process of that time.

2 - Why catagorize me? Is it important to do so in order to label me good or bad? Although it seems like I do, I really don't wish to antagonize...

3 - Don't wish to impose... When,
in the name of faith, one renounces all other views to be flawed, there's reaction. It's possible that you weren't coming from that place at all. Nor did I mean to.

All I accused you of is using your religion to pass judgements on me.

I make no statements whatsoever about your relationship with God. I have no clue what you're relationship with God might be.

But you have already condemned my relationship with God as being 'reduced to nothing'. Just because I refuse to convert to your religion.

You're the one who is demanding that only your picture of God is valid.

No me.

And that's the problem with these Mediterranean mythologies, they are all based on jealous Gods who insist on being worshiped and recognized in precise ways.

You didn't answer my question.

Do you honesly believe that all Jews and Muslims are intentionally and knowingly rejecting the 'real God' in favor of worshiping false doctrines?

Do you honesly feel that Spider has the right to belittle Miguel by saying that he's a 'disapointment' just because they have differnt idea about what Christ stood for?

Face it Quicky, these Mediterranean mythologies are strongly judgmental religions.

Don't hide behind the cloak of Jesus. ohwell

Jesus said that he was the Son of God... The Bible says we are ALL sons and daughters of God. Jesus never suggested we make it be about him, but more about us. If you love Jesus so much, wouldn't you wish to understand what he spoke based on your own discovery and not a church's prefabricated interpretation? Why would such a Universal Text be created? For the purpose of one elite group getting it right and all the rest squirming in a pit of dispare, nashing all the way? I think not.

It's like don't shoot me I'm just the messenger. BTW...the Bible is more than just laws...it's the fulfillment of the law...life & living for as many as will believe what God says.

Dear girl, I wasn't referring to you. Some here just like to argue about people who share their faith. I was just pointing that out. The only thing I was wondering was where you are coming from when it comes to God. That's all..

There is a difference...when you don't have faith it's easy to put someone else's down.

Like I said before...I've observed that those who don't have faith usually insult those for having faith. To add, they also put down the great cloud of those who are witnesses of God's glory & the TRUTH of His word by faith through GRACE, not of our works.

I know I am more direct than some of the others who share their faith when it comes to calling out the antagonisms where I see them...however, I think many would agree that there are those who are deliberate in their antagonisms toward Christians & their sharing the faith.

No Christian is under attack.

Have I told you that you are being rebellious toward God?

I don't think so.

You say,...

No. 3 - People can believe what they want but don't impose their views on others by denegrating others who are simply sharing THEIR faith.

But you just denegrated me.

You just accused me of reducing God to nothing.

Did I ever accuse you of reducing God to nothing?

And that's just not good.

It's when we start labeling good or not good that we trap ourselves... myself included.

Since when? We are suppose to be discerning... will you stand in front of a truck coming 100 mph at you? No... this is more warped human thinking...calling being discerning & knowing right from wrong as condemnation. That's a lie from the pit of hell.

Same thing when it comes to sin & life & living. Those who don't heed warning reap trouble on themselves & others as well.

Don't believe me? Look at the divorce rate, drug addiction, sexual crimes & self imposed poverty & disease in a nation like America. There are enough hardships imposed through no fault of our own without the self imposed "do your own thing" ones.

Oh! Let's be in denial of that too... no one wants to hear about the affects of sin. They just want to continue to blame God for their mistakes instead of taking responsiblity for themselves. The rest are being dragged down with them. They certainly don't care about others why should they care about God or what He has to say? Right?

Just sayin'...this is what's WRONG with the things some people think are ok. It should be examined & the alternative considered...for people's safety & for a better quality of life. Instead of looking at govt. to the answers maybe people should have some self control & a sense of God consciousness instead. Yu think?
