In my opinion and many experts this list make no sense at all!

Education,
Bin Laden studied economics and business administration at King Abdulaziz University. Some reports suggest bin Laden earned a degree in civil engineering in 1979, or a degree in public administration in 1981.

There exists a man who interviewed Bin Laden and wrote a book about his life. "Osama bin Laden I Know" is the title of the book.
He doesnt mention anything on this list. The reasons he tells in his book come straight from Bin Laden and the men who know him best! There is an NPR interview with this man!
His name is Peter Bergen. Anyone interested can read the transcripts of the interview at,

Good day my intelligent politicians of the future!

Can someone tell me "EXACTLY" why Osama Bin Laden hates Americans or the American Government?

Could it be?

because of a old family grudge between Bush and the Ladens about oil?

because of the lifestyle Americans live - if so then why did he allow the CIA to train his men to fight Russians at the time?

because Osama Bin Laden's family didn't allow his men to fight Saddam Hussein when Saddam was trying to reclaim the lands that he felt belonged to Iraq.

because American troops were on holy soil "Saudi Arabia"?

because of religion?

because of economics?

because he never is truly responsible for the 9/11 attacks as "conspiracies say".

because of Israel influence through powerful jewish lobbyists?

I mean there has to be a reason why this man has a grudge for Americans? One cannot just act on violence without reason? Or can they?

Thank you for taking the time to answer this to the best of your knowledge.

I suggest you go to the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan, hike up and down the mountains and into the caves here and there, and when you find Mr. Bin Laden, ask him yourself! You are asking people who never heard of the man, people who never gave a damn about what is going on in the mid East or any other foreign country, to read the mind of a scewered terrorist as to WHY he hates America??????????????? Or WHY he just hates period?grumble grumble grumble

Short Version:

Osama essentially got to the holy war on US idea when it was the US that Saudi Arabia came to during the first Gulf War. When Kuwait was invaded the Saudi royal family feared that Saddam might not stop for they were pushing closer and closer to the border of Saudi Arabia through Kuwait. Osama came to Saudi Arabia offering his assistance, for the right price and approval of the Saudi royal family, to assemble his own personal army and defend them from Iraq.

Saudi Arabia declined and went to the US instead. This extremely ticked him off, his ego trip, and he created vast problems following for both Saudi Arabia and the US.

education in one discipline has nothing to do with
profound ignorance in another.

you can be the world's best suicide belt builder and know
absolutely nothing about how to live in peace and
harmony with your neighbors.

i stand by the list. individual grievances are merely
manifestations of one element or another on the list.

Pretty much, Osama wasn't even the real hero of the Russian defeat in Afghanistan. The rich and highly educated Osama took all credit for the successes that were actually Ahmed Shah Massoud, the Northern Alliance leader who was tracking Osama in Afghanistan for us prior to 9/11. Mossoud HATED Osama with a passion for what he did to him and according to him Osama was a horrible field commander, as is evident by the very poor battlefield training of al Qaeda.

Why not assume when the information from someone who has first hand knowledge and has personally interviewed him available!

No need to read what he says right?
What a waste of time that would be!

LOL,
I believe I'll accept real knowledge and a first hand account, thank you very much!drinker

Text of Osama bin Laden's taped remarks, aired on an Arab television station after the U.S. and British strikes
Sunday. The remarks, which refer to the Sept. 11 terror attacks on New York and Washington, appear to have
been made before Sunday's strikes. The text is translated from the Arabic. - USATODAY.com

I bear witness that there is no God but Allah and that Mohammad is his messenger.

There is America, hit by God in one of its softest spots. Its greatest buildings were destroyed, thank God for
that. There is America, full of fear from its north to its south, from its west to its east. Thank God for that.

What America is tasting now is something insignificant compared to what we have tasted for scores of years.
Our nation (the Islamic world) has been tasting this humiliation and this degradation for more than 80 years.
Its sons are killed, its blood is shed, its sanctuaries are attacked, and no one hears and no one heeds..."

A GREAT article on Massoud, the CIA in Afghanistan and their relationship with Massoud, and the search for bin Laden there: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=3853553

Steve Coll wrote a great book, much more lengthier than the lengthy story from the source above called Ghost Wars.

Steve Coll is a Pulitzer Prize-winning American journalist and writer.
