I read about him in three languages and I came to the following conclusion :
1 : He hated the fact that Palestine is a Jewish colony ( his opinion ).
2 : He hated the fact that America supports Israel unconditionally (his opinion ).
3 : he hated the bombing of Iraq by both the U.S.A. and Great Britain ( his opinion ).
4 : He wanted Palestine to have a home land or a country ( his opinion ).
5 : He wanted Iraqis not to be bombed in their own backyard (his opinion).
6 : He opposed the military bases in Saudi Arabia and in Muslim countries ( his opinion ) .
*** between brackets is what the media reported about him including the famous interview given in early 90s to the US journalist John Miller .
*** some people think he is already dead as he was sick from his kidneys and needed a dialysis machine . { The president of Pakistan , some scientists and a former defense minister for France are among those who said at one point : he is DEAD.
So is he dead or alive ?. I have no clue .

Was it wrong what he had thought though?

Shouldn't Palestine have their own country?

Shouldn't the world at the time and especially neigboring countries of Israel have had a say if Zionism should continue to form a country as Israel?

Shouldn't the US and Great Britian have waited to do such violence to Iraq? I say this because didn't Iraq have a no fly zone anyway at the time. Weren't they restricted and observed by the UN consitently anyway?

Shouldn't Saudi Arabia have built their own military and not allow American bases to be planted on Arabian soil if it bothered the majority of the population?

It is not just Americans.

I guess because we are closer, us Europeans take a closer look at the Middle East. (also because we colonised it)

But as far as caring what happens here, there is no more than a passing interest in the average European.

ok i will venture into this ive thought and thought.

im going to go with relgion...his jihad his holy war seems to be the reason behind everything. i imagine that it was just the way he was raised...some ppl are just born evil...and raised to continue that.

jmo

as for burning in hell im sure he will

but Jihad isnt a holy war.
Its real meaning is an internal struggle between him and his god.

Someone once said that one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

Im not sure his supporters see him as evil.

(seeing as I picked at your theory, Ill have a go.)

Could it be that he has been double crossed and wants revenge?

(I refer to my earlier post as a potential reason)

I believe you're on to something here Beluchidrinker

I can't know for sure, I am not friends with the man, but for starters I would guess he dosn't like the US interferring with politics & economics in the Mid East. He probably dosn't appreciate his family being all buddy-buddy with the infidels either.

Most of this became his motives after he was double crossed and began seeking revenge!
He may not have liked the treatment of the Palestinians, but everything else came after he was double crossed and began to hate what he saw as a pattern of American deception and lies!

actually they only began ranting about Israel and the
Palestinians recently. the primary motivation against the
US was always hatred for US influence in Muslim countries
in the middle east. they only really started flogging the
Palestinian dead horse the last few years...

but the real inspiration comes from my top 10 list
above...
