We need to show more sympathy for these people. * They travel miles in the heat. * They risk their lives crossing a border. * They don't get paid enough wages. * They do jobs that others won't do or are afraid to do. * They live in crowded conditions among a people who speak a different language. * They rarely see their families, and they face adversity all day ~ every day. I'm not talking about illegal Mexicans ~ I'm talking about our troops! Doesn't it seem strange that many Democrats and Republicans are willing to lavish all kinds of social benefits on illegals, but don't support our troops, and are even threatening to de-fund them? Doesn't it seem strange that many Democrats and Republicans are willing to lavish all kinds of social benefits on illegals, but don't support our troops, and are even threatening to de-fund them? because simply this government is wating time, money, and lives (the most important thing) in a stupid nonsensical war. illegals don't get any help from the government whatsoever. if it were not for private institutions these people were just dogs in this society. |

They ARE military so are a lot of things  I used to work for FEMA You dont know these people like I do They aren't military, they are civilian. Maybe you should read about posse Comitatus. A claim to special knowledge, how...special. |

A claim to special knowledge, how...special. They lie They say they arnt military but its funny how almost all police are exmilitary, they use military ranks, they use military hardware I dont have special knowledge I have firsthand experience

They get more than enough already not for the work we do, Come spend a two months with me on deployment and see if your views don't change a little I personally think firefighters, grunts, and police-officers all need a raise. Well, that depends on your rank doesn't it. Some military people make very good money. The benefits are really good as well. |

They are payed very well Thats why I was considering being an officer in the Air Force. I have a degree in engineering and could have gotten in quite easily. The first couple of years the pay is a little less than normal engineering jobs, but you get food, clothes, housing, and cost of living stipends. You get to shop at military stores which are very cheap. You can travel on military aircraft for super cheap. You have guaranteed promotions and pay goes up a lot. You also get a pension if you stay 20 yrs. |

In fact less than %20 goes to defense, over %50 goes to Social Security Medicare Medicaid Retirement and Disability Health Veterans Benefits SSI Family Support These are direct payments to beneficiaries. I wonder how much of that 20% goes to Defense and how much of it goes to the aggressive action in Iraq? |

wow...i thought i was actually getting callous to ignorance. But I am actually offended. I think some people should be forced to live in a thrid world country for a while and think their own simplistic thoughts. I highly doubt any of them would actually live by their own morals. If they did, they would simply not survive. Only few people actually know this. If you wanna hate the soldiers, what would you suggest they do? Let the Iraqis wipe each other out, after they finally start to see progress? Maybe they should all go AWOL and leave America defensless. Some people just cannot think this through. Your mind would quickly change about your logic and there are reasons people like you aren't calling the shots, because if you did, we would focus all our time and energy on the minorities, and the majority would suffer. I will not name names. I guess i shouldn't take it personally since you guys probably have no life experience what-so-ever.
Yes illegals are being helped by our government, i have met some. They are going to school for free. Some are on welfare and refuse to get jobs. But then again, many people are on welfare that refuse to work for fear of losing benefits. No soldiers are not, nor have they ever been murderers. Who do you thank for the rights you have today? Sorry about the rant. This was a good post. Support the troops. Cheers to them for all they have done. Damn the politicians, democrat and republican alike! Howdy fanta, hows my drinkin buddy?
