At least Providence cops.

My friend's car was stolen this weekend. They went to a club right after the second Funny Girl performance and they took two cars. One of my friends cars was stolen and the other was broken into (probably not stolen because they don't know how to drive a standard.

They took all of my friends important papers like social security card, birth certificate, all of their phones, debit cards etc.

They found my friends car somewhere and towed it. God knows what kind of condition it's in right now. ><

That night, me and my boyfriend when to go get them. The police were jerks to us. My friends called them once before I got there to pick them up and they said they had to go to the police station. Except how could they get there if their CAR was STOLEN?! And when I got there I called the police again. They got angry at me for calling for my friend and said that my friend was the one who was supposed to call and he HUNG UP ON ME! So my friend called a THIRD time. They finally listened, we filed a report and me and my boyfriend drove them to the station.

At the station they told us that it wasn't reported stolen, it was just towed, when we reported it stolen TEN MINUTES earlier and tried to report it for half an hour.

They were rude and spoke to us as if it was our fault. It was a horrible experience. I was furious and still am.

Hopefully my friend reports how horribly we were treated to some lieutenant cop or something.

Question: Why would anyone care all that important stuff in their car in the first place, that's what really doesn't make sense. I think they sort of set themselves up for the loss.

Even if they didn't have important stuff in the car.

THE CAR WAS ****ING STOLEN AND WE WERE TREATED LIKE **** BY THE COPS.

Should she not carry her CAR with her either? THAT's important. But it was still stolen

That's ALL I am saying.

Elsa you say the car was stolen and not towed away? There would have been a police report if it was stolen (logical) jmo

Oh my God.

It was stolen.

Then abandoned.

Then towed.

All the while we tried to report it to the police and they wouldn't let us.

Unless you can put yourself in their shoes, we have no right to speculate...

No one knows what kind of night they were having...

No units may have been available?

Maybe a few units were off due to vacation or sick?

Who knows whatever? Again,...what is more important! Maybe the fact that somone is getting beat up horribly compared to a car that was stolen...

Think about it

I'm sorry your car was stolen. In philly, this does happen, the towing company runs out of room and they just parked where ever, supposed to make a note of it, sometimes your car is parked in the crappiest part of town, leading to broken windows and theft. The officers however, don't have to pick you up for you to file a report. They don't like paperwork to begin with. I can see how this could be very upsetting, trumatic for you. They may have not been sensitive to your plight. hang in there and start calling some people about your friends stolen info. We know you don't mean hate, hate. Its just a word that can be taken out of context.

Elsa, I'm sorry that you had to go thru all that stress on the night of the play. I know how hard you have been working on that play.flowerforyou

I know quite a few police officers and firefighters. There are good ones and bad ones like in every other profession.

seriously people...i have worked at the police station...and know many cops (family and friends)

there are many great cops...but some (usually rookies...not always though) that go power crazy. a good cop knows how to keep himself composed and take control of the situation without rudeness. I've seen many answering phones (when I couldn't get to them) be extremely nasty and some being extremely helpful

How do you delete topics? Can you?

Because everyone is being mean.
My friend's car was STOLEN.
I was appalled at how rudely the cop treated me. He could have explained himself, he could have said he needed my friend to speak with him instead of hanging up on me.

noway noway noway EVERYONE is being MEAN TO ME???

Excuse me dear, but FOOD for FUTURE POSTS, Don't start with

the words "HATE" when pertaining to ANY GROUP of people!

My son risks his life daily, BECAUSE HE wanted to help people
as he grew, so he became a police officer.
He lives to SERVE and PROTECT STRANGERS of ANY race, color,
age, AND I could not be MORE PROUD of HIM,,,and his PROFESSION.

Yeah. Everyone thinks cops are perfect.

They're definitely NOT.

Not all cops are bad. But not all are good.

My god make up your mind!

Is it all you hate?

Or just some now?

Regardless of what anyone else in this thread says..

This infuriates me! To start off a thread with..I Officially HATE all Cops!

My Fahter put his life on the line for over 25 years
Took a bullet, been shot at many times, even killed a couple of guys. Even though those guys deserved it, it still screws your head up!

Ended up going out on retirement for disability because of a freakin Heroin addict! And now his neck and back will never be the same for the rest of his life! Actually suffer a tremendous amount of pain daily because of it!

I could care less about your stolen car honestly..

Consider the ones that are out there saving lives and protecting us...Next to that your friends car means nothing! That can be replaced!

It's the ramblings of and immature and senseless young person, who doesn't have respect for athoruity and thinks the world revolves around them and their friends mode of transportation.

Being upset about a car being stolen doesn't mean that the world is revolving around somebody.

My car was stolen and found torched a week later. I did not have insurance on it. I was terribly upset to wake up and find my car gone.

I suddenly did not have a car for four months. I had to take my child to school and the grocery store in a cab until I saved up enough money to buy a car. Then I found myself looking out the window to see if I still had a car for a long time.

I don't see the ramblings of an immature and senseless young person.

I see a young college student upset over a stressful situation and yes, the police treated them rudely when they hung up on them.

Elsa had a bad experience.

There are good police officers and bad police officers just like in every profession.

With all due respect

This has nothing to do with the OP

Of course that sounds horribly inconvienent, and I would not want to see anyone go through that...ever

But it has nothing to do with the Police and the fact that it was stolen...
