High up on a mountain
Cold and dark and grey
Was the last known dragon-
At least thats what they say...
He lived a life of solitude
For all who saw him feared;
They would shriek and run away
Every time he'd come near.

So he hid against the stone
and rarely did go out,
Until one day a stranger
Climbed up to seek him out
"Hello dragon, are you there?"
The strangers voice called loudly;
So the dragon stood and stretched
Exposing himself proudly-

The young man was in awe
The dragon was so exquisite.
Sadness filled the young mans face
The dragon asked "What is it?"
"I was to come and capture you
or kill you" he replied-
"But alas what would happen
If the last known Dragon died?"

The dragons head sunk low in thought
He said "do what you must do-"
"You are a young mighty warrior
With strength that you must prove"
"I suppose I just hoped
The hunting had come to an end
And maybe some one would just come
because they want to be my friend.

Guilt ridden and full of remorse
The warrior drew his massive blade
As he walked toward the dragon
He said "Do not be afraid-
For I will only tell the King
That no dragon exists at last
They have all been slain I fear
By the warriors of the past."

"From this day my strength will be
That this secret I will keep
So you can live your days out here
In the mountain caves so deep.
By my honor Ill protect you
and hold this secret dear
That I am the last soldier to know
That the last dragon alive- lives here."

A bundle of joy just arrived
Shes been here a couple of days-
She pink and cute and all thats sweet
Her names' Naomi Grace.

Shes really small with lots of spunk
Just like grandma -they say.
Im just cant wait to hold her, now
Before time quickly passes away.

I saw her at first here online.
With her mommas cute round face.
Im so excited she has our eyes
That sweet Naomi Grace.

Its really neat to think my son
Has now become a "daddy"
His face just shines with great pride
You can see that he is so happy.

Momma she is glowing too
As she holds her newborn child
Brand new pictures of them all
Capture their big smiles.

Now all I have to do is wait a bit
Until its time to see "my baby"
Hoping the years dont pass to quickly
As she grows from a child into a lady.

Blessings over you my little one,
How truly blessed we are.
To have you in our family
Our newest, brightest star.

For Naomi Grace

Momma's little girl all dressed in white-
Coming down the isle, its a heavenly sight.
Tears in every eye cause shes all grown up
Giving her vows to the man she loves.

The smile he wears is ear to ear
They're so in love its perfectly clear.
He takes her hand as dad gives her away
Not a dry eye on her perfect day.

The bride who was pacing an hour ago
Is lost in his eyes and her face is a glow.
the flower girls fidget as she says "I do"
Off down that isle to start life anew.

Now "wearing" cake she whirls across the floor
With my new son- the man she adores.
Well wishers are leaving, the party is done
Two seperate lives, have now become one.

I cant help but reflect on years gone by-
Scraped knees, and lizards, and making mud pies
Shes all grown up now, in a "big girl world"
But she'll always be- mommys little girl.

Happy wedding day Rachel

I loved you with a fire that would not be extinguished-
with a fury that could not be contained
My heart was full of faith and wonder at every word you said
and my passion was brimming over beyond measure.

But over time your careless words spilled out
and stifled the flame that once burned so bright
The careless actions of someone so secure of his hold
on a heart, lead him to believe he was invincable

That that the gaze of his lover could not be broken.
And the kiss of their lips was to be unmatched for eternity.
But alas, one day too much damage was done
And the flame was totally extinguished and the love vanished.

Thoughtless deeds and careless words stole the breeze
that carried love in - and the hot dry air consumed all life
Til everything lay dry and withered on the ground
The crispy crunch as it was trampled underfoot

By the very two entrusted with its care-
And the Angels cried because what began as a beautiful gift
was now a remant in ruins with no caregiver
and no life remained, now to become dust in the wind.

May all the lessons and wonderful memories that have been built during your time with your Dad surround you and bring you comfort.
There is nothing like a fathers love and nothng like the love for our father.
May you be blessed and lifted up during this time.

For many years I have been everything
to someone else.
Someones mother, daughter, sister
employee, WIFE.
Now entering the stage of my life
where the kids are grown-
The divorce is 3yrs gone by
and I struggle with who I am, really...
From being needed for every little scratch
and bump in lifes road-
1st days at school, bad breakups, dinner dishes
and homework
to more solitude than I care to admit to.
But in the quiet that is almost too loud to
think through,
Somehow I realized I lost my identity & in all those things and put myself last, to the point
that now Im rediscovering who I am.

Before I would not have liked what I saw
But today among the feelings of solitude
I have a sense of accomplishment.
And I realize that life isnt over, just progressing.
Moving on to the next phase if you will.
I just have to adjust accordingly.
I made up my mind that life doesnt have to steal away our identity.

A moment to think definately sounds better. But in the heat of the moment doesnt always come out like that -LOL
And it takes me MORE than a moment sometimes to cool down. So
I usually dont say a whole lot til I can gather myself and think about what to say
Presentation is everything.!!

Oh to live my life
as a leaf on a stream;
Not allowing myself
to come apart at every trial.
Gently meandering along
the current, babbling and serene...
Only to round a corner
picking up speed,
to be dashed against a rock
then thrown against drifting
branches.
My tattered edges caressing
the white caps, my color
still everso brilliant.
The stream is a stream
It can only go its own path
and I am but a leaf
going where it takes me.
All my nics and scars
make me no less what I am;
Only I have that power
by how I choose to challange
the challanges,
Do I struggle agains the current
or be faithful to continue on
-where ever it takes me?

Hey Doris- Im SOOO with you on that girl. I am so sick of double dealers, liars and men who dont know anything but taking. Oh the words are real nice, but when it comes to putting actions behind them its a lost cause. I too have been on my own for the last 8 yrs for all the same reasons.
I wish you well, and keep your chin up.

Good morning

She watched her son get on the plane
to fly somewhere far away
and as tears brimmed in her eyes
she heared her fragile voice say
God bless you son I will be here
call when you get time
and know that you will be each day
in every prayer of mine....

the plane took off and her heart broke
But pride also filled her heart
because she knew his reasons to go
Tho it hurt to be apart.
He was a man -she'd done her job
He was doing what he was called to do
And with the help of God above
They'd both somehow make it thru.

My son is what he'll always be
but a soldier he is now
I have to hold admiration and love
Tho its hard to watch the news somehow.
Even to Hes serving us all
and giving all hes got
To see my son a soldier too
Somedays takes more than alot

So if you would as you kneel and pray
remember my son too
as hes out there in the sand
fighting for me and you
just say a few words and thank the Lord
for keeping him safe and knowing
that even though I am his mom
My american pride is showing.

Though I dont agree with the war itself
I support these folks all the way
for sacrificing all they do
each and every day
I know these colors do not run
The red and whit and blue
So on this day especially
Ill stand tall with a salute to you...

To all our service members and their families
present , past and future.
Thank you...
