Great. I agree completely. Identifying "points" is far superior to presenting factual data. Anyone can present factual data and skew the data. Points, on the other hand, are very hard to dismiss.

If anyone sincerely wants to know how obamacare will be GOOD for the nation and every single American, all you have to do is tune into MSNBC. That media outlet does nothing but offer true factual data on how wonderful obamacare will be. Never do the folks there attack anyone with a different view, and never do they give opinion over facts. Listen to the voices of reason like those friendly, calm, and non-aggressive folks there. MSNBC is about as unbiased and truthful as money can buy. Get the facts, and get them from MSNBC.

Facts?

Have you listened to every political speech given in the past 20 years? Our wonderul leaders rely basically on misinformation (often outright lies), innuendo, ambiguity, threats, fear tactics, and personal attacks. Why should members of a political forum be any different?

Forget facts and let everyone offer statements based on personal bias: left, right, center, or outer space. At least that's what I've seen here so far.

Words sadly are not sufficient to express my sincere thanks to all of those (now-fellow) far-left and liberal thinkers for showing me the errors of my way. Now I am at peace with this violent world, and no matter if I'm in a restaurant with friends and family, on a subway train, or sitting on the steps of the public library reading a copy of Robert Frost, if a bad person tries to shoot me, chop off my limbs with a machete, or incinerate me with a homemade molotov cocktail, I will gladly give my life without lifting a finger to defend myself in order to ensure the safety of all those in the immediate vicinity. Again, I thank everyone for showing me that personal defense is just for paranoid cowards and sissies. Voilent crominals, do your worst: I'm now certain that in the end Justice Will Prevail. In fact, I may move to Detroit.

This is truly a wonderful country, and our heroic men and women in the highest levels of government deserve our complete respect and support for the job they are doing. May we all one day have children based on their value for welfare credit and may we all receive food stamps, possibly tobacco stamps, alchohol stamps, and every other type of stamp. I love this country and all it does for me and my fellow countrymen and countrywomen. Who cares if taxes increase or no one works ever again, and may our military men and women be sent wherever necessary for our government officials to be able to "save face." God Bless the Utopian States of America!

What positive and inspiring comments. I too agree!

Imagine what lies ahead for you. Please keep the ink (or the keystrokes) flowing.

Then post your photo on your profile so I'll know who to let the lunatics shoot before I take them down.

And to the dreamer who says the chances of such violence happening in a Starbucks is the same as winning a lottery, he clearly isn't thinking clearly enough to realize that people are winning lotteries in this country every week. Sadly for him, you don't have to buy a $1 ticket to enter this one.

What a waste of time this has been. Feel free to rant and rave some more because I'm moving on.

G.

Just watch, some insensitive guy is going to claim he found the "inch" you lost.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. G

I'll see that one and raise you this one:

Q: Where was toothpaste invented?

A: Kentucky. Had it been invented anywhere else, it would have been called teethpaste.

I agree. If you have interest in someone, just type a little message. How hard is that?

Of course, it could be for use by someone who is thinking, "I'm maybe interested but not enough to go to the trouble to type something, but I'll bet if I send a nudge this person will jump out of his/her skin in delight and head my way!"

I was not being critical, merely curious. I guess the concept of "le mot juste" makes me that way. Again, well done Unci. G.

Unci, Nice! I look forward to chatting about this, e.g., Why "murky" and not "crystal"? I'm sure you have a reason. You have a way with the haiku! G.

Coming to America is easier said than done. While in the Mid-east, I made a connection with a really sweet, intelligent, lovely gal... tried to get her to come here to visit, but she was Palistinian and could NOT get a visa. Too bad.

Perhaps this young gal will fare better.

Goat, you can be surrounded by asphault, skyscrapers, subways, traffic, shops, restaurants, and millions of people and still be just as "remote" and unattached.

The good thing for you is that you don't have the constant noise, the foul air pollution, and the crime. Enjoy your rural days and take joy in the freedom of being in the great outdoors. Seriously.

If you are only an hour from civilization, get a routine to travel that hour every so often as a relief.

Good luck,
G.

Tyranny comes in many guises and has many levels. Before complete domination and control comes the slow and steady movement to control small aspects of the lives of the people.

Hussein, Assad, Putin, Pelosi, Obama, Clinton, Stalin: take your pick because they are all peas from the same field.

This thread is pretty funny, and I agree it belongs in the Jokes section.

Actually, the joke is on EVERYONE because as soon as all that "hope and change" takes place, which most likely will be in April of 2014, we finally will have our Utopia...a place where we will all just get along: even the estimated 1.4 million gang members who now terrorize our largest cities.

Truly funny!

I sincerely hope you will leave this discussion with a serious bit of soul searching about what I asked. Do you have/know any children? Do you know any elderly folks? It really pertains to anyone. There WILL be a next time for a criminally violent fool to try to take innocent lives. If only ONE responsible gun owner is armed in such an event, who knows how many lives may be saved.

Forget the bickering and condescension. Simply consider this very real and very serious question. What if someone responsible can save lives by being armed? Again, it's only a matter of time before the next lunatic tries to kill innocent people.

Now for your question about guns in bars. Of course NOT. My concealed carry permit I take seriously. It very clearly specifies RESPONSIBLE CARRY. One stipulation is NO DRINKING AT ALL. I agree with that because when people drink they are not responsible any longer...driving, shooting, or doing anything that can jeopardize anohter.

You may have stong feelings about the evil of guns and those who own them, but lives can and HAVE BEEN SAVED by responsible armed US citizens. It happens every day. Please drop any bias and think about it. Thanks and have a good night. G.
