Cell phones are a big part of the way people socially interact these days. To leave him out of that loop is to limit his social growth. I disagree... My children are the most out going kids in my family... They're socialized enuf at school when they spend 6-7hours -Mon-Fri. Plus: YOu and I did not grow up with all the new gadgets now. I am very social and well-mannered... so, social growth has nothing to do with all the gadgets... it is how you raise and teach your children. Like i said, I do not rule this out of my kids..they can have all these (cellphone and expensive computer games and even a car) once they have a job to pay for it but if they expect me to pay for it? no...plus, I prefer to have face to face conversation with my children and we do that during our dinner time and after.. one of our rules at home is to let the answering machine pick up the call and we talk and interact after dinner (play games, help each other with homework or watch movie or TV shows together) |
