Ticketmaster/LiveNation rant
|
|
Sorry, just need to vent for a moment. I just bought 3 tickets at Ticketmaster for a charity event here in DC, tickets in advance were $35 (at the door $50). So, three tickets should be $105. WRONG, they actually cost me $145, I saved a whole $5 by buying in advance. And then they wanted to charge me $5 to print my tickets at home, USING MY OWN PRINTER/EQUIPMENT! F That! Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying reasonable service charges but a 33% markup per ticket, to me, is completely and totally unreasonable. The radio station who is sponsoring the event, when the DJ found out, he was appalled but at that point, there was nothing they could do. Oh well. It'll be worth it, 7 band lineup (Shinedown, Offspring, Puddle of Mudd, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Third Eye Blind, Papa Roach and 1 local band) I'd love to see and my 14 year old son's first ever rock concert. Everything costs too much and theres a gimmick to everything too it seems. Sounds like a great concert. I saw Shinedown with 3-Doors down. Good show. Papa Roach is supposed to be a great show too, so maybe it'll be worth it. |

I'm 49 and always have had animals so have been through that a few times. Sad. I've saved a few too, the one I have now, for one.

I'm interested in getting replies. More replies, more opinions. I have actually re-thought my firm beliefs after reading some of these. Never changed my mind...just considered it.
What I really dislike is answering a post, and killing the thread. And now that I've said that, this will be the end of this one. lol |

That hairstyle. Blow yourself, lil Sprout. haha OK. I think you musread my post. Having NO hair, I said your style pissed me off. Think you took it wrong. But, while I'm here...DO you ever leave the house? lol Just checking. I only come online at work. Too busy the rest of the time. My job works me a lot less than my "off time". |

What pisses me off is people acting like they think they are better than others. So you have more money, so you have a good education, this makes you fortunate that you had the opportunity to enjoy these things it doesn't make you better than someone who didn't have your advantages. Not everyone was born with a silver spoon in their mouths. This doesn't make them less in fact this makes them more as they have had to work their tails off for what they do have, no matter how large or small. Being thankful you have been blessed and spending your time helping others rise higher is much more productive to me than wasting your time and energy knocking others down and making them feel small. I'm just saying..... I know a few wealthy people that made it on their own that are good people. Treat everyone well. And more than a few that are total jerks. In my work, I often have to come in contact with business owners, executives, etc. And it's great that they have to defer to me. One of the perks of my werks. Heres a true story. I was sailing with my regular sailing friends on Cross Lake once and they had invited this Drs. son. Snotty rich boy. He is going on and on at me about "YOU should buy a yacht Jack...snicker snicker". It's like all day taunting me. So finally I say "Hey Jon, Go ahead and take all your cash outta your pockets...checkbook too. Go cash in all your bonds, stocks, royalties and the allowance your daddy gives you... everything you own..and throw it in a big pile here in the middle this boat". Long pause. Then I say "It's still not gonna keep me from throwing your ass off this boat". And I did. Everyone laughed and tossed me beers. A good day. |

... I also would keep lightening bugs in a jar and they always died no matter how many holes I punched the top. And they always will. Funny, I was talking with a friend last night about filling jars of fireflies (lightening bugs) when I was a kid. Weird. |
