Sorry, just need to vent for a moment. I just bought 3 tickets at Ticketmaster for a charity event here in DC, tickets in advance were $35 (at the door $50). So, three tickets should be $105. WRONG, they actually cost me $145, I saved a whole $5 by buying in advance. And then they wanted to charge me $5 to print my tickets at home, USING MY OWN PRINTER/EQUIPMENT! F That!

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying reasonable service charges but a 33% markup per ticket, to me, is completely and totally unreasonable. The radio station who is sponsoring the event, when the DJ found out, he was appalled but at that point, there was nothing they could do.

Oh well. It'll be worth it, 7 band lineup (Shinedown, Offspring, Puddle of Mudd, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Third Eye Blind, Papa Roach and 1 local band) I'd love to see and my 14 year old son's first ever rock concert. grumble

with a line up like that, probably won't be any tickets available at the door, so, they gotcha...but, yeah, service charges defeat the purpose. hope you and your son enjoy the show!

Yeah, that's why I didn't wait. And even with all the charges, for that lineup it's worth it. But I was pricing tickets for Def Leppard and Cheap Trick, 2 $30 tickets would have been over $90, that was NOT worth it laugh laugh

Tell me. They are one of the big reasons I rarely go to shows anymore, those fees, on top of massively inflated ticket prices, just disgust me sick

That's why I ALWAYS go right to the box office and purchase my concert tickets in person, with cash.

There's a reason they're known as TicketBastard.

I was going to do that but the box office is only open M-F from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., it's all the way downtown, there's no way I can make it there during the week. Oh well.

Everything costs too much and theres a gimmick to everything too it seems. Sounds like a great concert. I saw Shinedown with 3-Doors down. Good show. Papa Roach is supposed to be a great show too, so maybe it'll be worth it.

I think it'll definitely be worth it. It just seems like such a rip off. A 30% "service fee and convenience charge" just seems to be way over the top. Prices many people out of the market. But, I guess to a lot of people, it just doesn't matter. For what they charged me in fees, I could have taken one of my son's friends as well.
