This is like a big thing for me, but most of my life, beng smart is all I really was stand-out proud of. I never was too handsome and don;t care for sports and stuff. Good genes and I study hard on techncally difficult things to this day...every day. My work has always been fixing highly technical issues and I'm good at that.
But it's a curse to think you know too much, or especially more than most around you, without being humble. I'm learning that slowly but surely. No matter if save someone a million dollars with a homemade two dollar part, if you make them feel stupid, they'll never call you back. Ad in a relationship, you just gotta suck it up and say "Oh yeah baby! You're right!"...eve if she's dead wrong. One of these days, I'll learn. 
It's funny how the smartest people can be so stupid at times...myself especially. OK, I'm outta here. Gotta go cook something healthy to eat. Anyone know how to bake chicken??? lol |

One of my clients had an issue with it. My first thought was FIREWALL but that wasn't the issue. In their cas it was the registry key listed below and I deleted it AS A LAST RESORT...and it worked.
I have also heard that there is an issue with Live Messenger and McAffee Site Advisor 2009. Try the tips here: http://messenger-support.spaces.live.com/default.aspx?sa=885808980 If that won't fix it and you've eliminated your (or Windows Security Center) firewall then go START>RUN>regedit and delete the following registry key. You can back it up first if that makes you nervous but it won't hurt you. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger\Policies One of these solutions will fix you up. I'd bet on deletng the content cache as it describes...if it was working before. |

The scale thing got me to thinking. Yeah I know..it hurts!
Dave (DirecTV) tried to sue me over owning "smartcard hacking equipment". But I, being a smartcard programmer and having written many apps using the Smartcard interface, I had a good excuse to own it. Testing my security. I shut them down. Now they use scales for LOTS more than weighing dope. Medicine, mail, gunpowder, lots. I'd fight that and contend that it was for some other valid purpose. The scales weren't WITH the weed huh? |

Quarter bag of weed = misdemeanor Quarter bag of weed + scale = intent to distribute = felony Weed with intent to distribute + having guns in the house = felony posession of firearms Normally, with weed in the house, I would get off with probation and maybe a few days in jail. But because I had a scale, I must be selling. And because I have a few guns in the house (which were legally owned and never ever ever ever used for killing anything but old electronics), I must be a violent drug dealer. So I went to my arraignment hearing today, which was really nothing but resetting my actual court date. My attorney made a motion to supress the evidence, which he says has a 50/50 chance of happening. If the evidence makes it into court and I am convicted, the prosecutor wants to sentence me to 22 months in prison! What the UFCK?!?!?! So I smoke some weed. I've never in my life hurt a living thing. I have long since been out of past trouble, which also includes nothing but smoking weed. I've spent the past 6 years in school and am 4 classes from graduating with an architecture degree. I haven't smoked since the day I got arrested. I have completed all my pre-trial probation requirements with flying colors. And I have been nothing but helpful and the best of friends to all those around me. I am an exceptionally talented designer with a lot to offer the world of architecture after graduation. And now my $100,000 education along with all else I have done in the past decade are about to be thrown down the tubes. I'm so depressed right now. What the hell did I do to deserve this? Brother, this is the new world where the government wants your guns, no matter what. I was convicted of a felony when I was 17 (not since) and tried as an adult...did some time... and I'm 49 now. The government HATES it that I KNOW about my right to bear arms and the specific statute that allows me to own mine. The ATF, Sheriff Dept and locals all told me I could never have a gun. Called 1-800-ATF-GUNS to read them the state statute and they had to concur that I do in fact have the rights. Few guns got stolen and they didnt want to return them to me but I forced it. But if you're EVER convicted of any felony involving crimes against people, drugs or sexual assault, you never ever get that back, even in my state. Do everything you can to get that gun charge off and the weed knocked back to a misdemeanor or you lose those rights forever. Doesnt matter if you have to pay 100 grand...pay it. 22 months aint that long but Im with you....what I do in my own home should be my business. Even though I talk about drugs some, I personally have been straight for about 15 years and don't miss it at all. And I never worry if cops come to my door. I can invite them in for coffee. (But I'd put ex-lax in it). Good luck though. |

Once the guy showed me my "rear differential fluid" and said it should be red, and really needed changed. Another time, after an alignment, they said my car still pulled because of the "road". I asked for my printout, they looked SO guilty. Actually your differential uses 80 or 90 weight gear lube, and it ain't red. Your transmission/transaxle fluid should be red, just so you know. I sure hate it when people get taken advantage of. |

I have never taken anything of my own to any shop, regardless of what work or how much money I was making at the time. So I've never been reamed.
I did hire a company once to fix my Arkla-Servel Central air unit but after he replaced my compressor, a valve and dumped about 2 pounds of Ammonia into the atmosphere, I just fixed it myself. |
