I will forceably take them from your person then....

Hmmm... What are you going to use? Zip ties? Handcuffs? Whips? Chains? Rope?

If so, then I look forward to it.

Do Satanists celebrate Imbolc?

Nope. But I celebrate Yule, Walpurgisnacht, my birthday, and we satanists have a bunch of unnamed ceremony days.

We have taken a bunch of Pagan holidays too.

Get drunk. Always helps me.

Maybe switch religions... That helped me a lot. You familiar with Anton LaVey?

I got a little theory that can tie evolution and creation together. I am not a Christian anymore, bear with me. I'm trying to help.

Your god created everything in a week, yes?

At the end of the week, he took a siesta, yes?

Six days on, one day to rest.

Your god is the ultimate power of the universe, right? Nothing is greater or more powerful. Immortal and whatnot...

Then you gotta ask yourself one question.

How long is a 'god' day? The old man put in six of them before he needed to rest. How often does the ultimate power of everything need to rest?

I'm betting that a god day is a hell of a lot longer then ours. If he took his time, making changes slowly, morphing things into the form he wanted, wouldn't that be called evolution?

My wonderfully simple friend Glen has a theory that might help you.
*Ahem*

This thread was quite contentious for a few pages... the typical "us" vs. "them" caused some knee jerk unkind reactions to come...

But then it seems a spirit of open-ness and tolerance prevailed.

And now it's still an interesting discussion...

just peaceful.

How restful and refreshing.

Peace and joy all. flowerforyou

And Thank You to the originator, Big Jim. The OP writer owns their thread and sets the tone. Nice tone.

Thanks. I do what I can.

Not to brag, but handling people is what I do for a living. I work Security at a casino and part time as a bouncer for a local club. I get to meet all sorts of nasty... *ahem* ...different types of people. I dread the Elko Motorcycle Jamboree... Those guys hit really hard and don't go down easy.

Mostly the posters did all the handling for themselves, for that they need to be applauded. drinker

I've met a lot of nice people through here, you are very near the top of the list, Anoasis.

I'll check back on this thread in a bit.

I've been asked never to come back to one of the Mcdonalds in my town. 5 of us went in and ordered a sh!# load of double cheeseburgers. We went to a table in the middle of the sitting area and proceded to eat the cheeseburgers like Cookie Monster eats his cookies.... by tearing them up and throwing them everywhere and not swallowing one bit...VERY LOUDLY...

Ahhh... the crap I get into...

Earlier this week my friends and I decided that the same Mcdonalds wasn't McMotivated enough... So we drove up to the drive through asking about their McMotivation level... They were obviously confused. When we started screaming "I LOVE BEING MCMOTIVATED!" over and over before peeling out, they'd sent their manager out to do... something... He earned the finger by yours truly.

First off, I commend all the regular posters. I've never seen anything like this: relative calm, educated conversation with scary words like satanism, witch, Asatru, and Christian so close together! I've actually learned and re-learned a lot by reading all your posts.
Personally, since I think this room has gone beyond the literal definition of religion, I'm kind of a Pantheistic Christian... The best metaphor I have for my beliefs came from a Taoist though I've changed it alittle. Think of the truth as a pool of sourts or a lake. You cannot really transfer it from where it is to another person, you need a vessel (which I think of as words though religion or science work just as well). People tend to look at the vessel and think of it as the truth itself("bible- thumpers *cough*) and of corse once truth is taken from it's larger source it picks up dirt from said vessel or parts of the vessel soluvate(lol sorry no other word came to mind) and mix in with the truth.
I know... I'm still working on my beliefs... Figuring a little out every day =) though you guys have helped a lot, thanks!

Thanks a bunch. devil

I fully intend to read Velvet Elvis. "Repainting the Christian Faith" is what caught my eye. I don't follow your God, but as Damned as I am, I can't help reading about the Old Man. The passion invoked when he comes into any conversation makes me grin from the sidelines. People who hold their faith through the bad times are to be respected and not trod upon.

But I am working my way through The Orgin Of Satan by Elaine H. Pagels. I just got it today and I am sure you understand that it's a bit higher on my reading list.
