Ummmm....how about talking to each other so the unknown becomes known? And if the person would keep derailing the topic, it's right to be suspicious of hiding something and it's time to consider to back off and give up on him or her after a certain amount of tries of getting the info out. Exactly |

We often hear Christians claim to serve God but what service to God does the bible say to offer? What is the quality and quantity of service that is an acceptable offering to God? Many people are curious about what the Bible has to say about service. God expects those who love Him to provide service to others. By providing service to others, we become God's hands reaching out to others. God has a special place in His heart for the most vulnerable members of society and charges his followers with providing service to them. |

Salvation a Gift from God?
Question: "What does it mean for salvation to be a gift from God?" Answer: The word gift is an important one in the Bible, and it is good that we understand its definition and implications. In the New Testament, there are several Greek words translated “gift.” Some of these words are used in contexts other than God’s gift of salvation, such as the reciprocal gift-giving of celebrants (Revelation 11:10), the things received from fathers (Matthew 7:11), offerings to a ministry (Philippians 4:17), and the gifts of the magi (Matthew 2:11). However, when it comes to the matter of our salvation, the New Testament writers use different Greek words— words that emphasize the gracious and absolutely free quality of the gift. Here are the two words most commonly used for the gift of salvation: 1) Dorea, meaning “a free gift.” This word lays particular stress on the gratuitous nature of the gift— it is something given above and beyond what is expected or deserved. Every New Testament occurrence of this word is related to a spiritual gift from God. It is what Jesus offers to the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:10). It is called the “free gift” in Romans 5:15. It is the “unspeakable [or indescribable] gift” in 2 Corinthians 9:15. This gracious gift is identified as the Holy Spirit in Acts 2:38; 8:30; and 11:17. The adverb form of this word is dorean, translated “freely” in Matthew 10:8; 2 Corinthians 11:7; Revelation 21:6; 22:17. In Romans 3:24, immediately following God’s pronouncement of our guilt, we have this use of dorean: “Being justified FREELY by His grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” The gift of salvation is free, and the motive for the gift is nothing more than the grace of the Giver. 2) Charisma, meaning “a gift of grace.” This word is used to define salvation in Romans 5:15-16. Also, in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death, but the GIFT [charisma] of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” This same word is used in conjunction with the gifts of the Spirit received after salvation (Romans 12:6; 1 Timothy 4:14; 2 Timothy 1:6; 1 Peter 4:10). Obviously, if something is a “gift of grace,” it cannot be earned. To work for something is to deserve it, and that would produce an obligation— a gift of debt, as it were. That is why works destroy grace (Romans 4:1-5; 11:5-6). When presenting salvation, the New Testament writers carefully chose words that emphasize grace and freedom. As a result, the Bible could not be more clear— salvation is absolutely free, the true gift of God in Christ, and our only responsibility is to receive the gift by faith (John 1:12; 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9). © Copyright 2002-2011 Got Questions Ministries. |

I notice that when a young girl is pursued by a much older man (in forum threads or in real life), she calls him a pervert,
It depends on what you mean by "pursues her" If it is with sexual innuendo she may feel uncomfortable and call him that.(IMO) However, if the guy is not hot but still around her age, then he could be called creepy or some other derogatory term if she doesn't care to have his attention. That is just an immature way of saying they aren't her type. (IMO) Pretty harsh word to throw around flippantly |

Criminal Minds Rant
Criminal Minds has yet to be renewed for its seventh season (and there's no doubt it will be), but that doesn't mean they're not working on making sure all their regulars will be back for more cases to profile. More Morgan! According to Deadline, Shemar Moore, who plays Derek Morgan, who is usually the one to kick down a door if that's needed, has signed on for next season and "he will be doubling his salary to about $100,000 an episode, up from just north $50,000 per episode under his old agreement." Thomas Gibson now remains the only current series regular who hasn't signed a contract for season 7 yet. Paget Brewster could be returning, depending on what happens with My Life As an Experiment, a comedy pilot over at NBC. Last month, AJ Cook signed back on as a series regular for the next two seasons. She will also be back in the Criminal Minds season finale this year to set up that return. She was last seen in "Lauren," which may or may not have been the last episode with Prentiss. Joe Mantegna, Matthew Gray Gubler, and Kirsten Vangsness were all already signed on for season 7, and if Gibson and Brewster return as well, they will have the same team they began the season with (if the possible shake-ups for the BAU take new series regular Rachel Nichols' Ashley Seaver away from the team). Are you excited that Shemar Moore has signed on for Criminal Minds season 7? http://entertainment.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474979317165 I don't understand, they signed almost the whole cast for another 1 to 2 seasons but they haven't renewed the show for Season 7 yet? I wonder why not, it's a top 10 show and they signed almost everyone. I read an interview with Gibson where he said it's not time for his character Agent Hotchner to leave the show yet and it wont be for atleast a few more seasons. I hope he signs soon. I also think this might be the reason they haven't renewed for Season 7 yet. Sounds like theres a good chance of Prentiss coming back also. I had a feeling she would be back since JJ gave her papers at the end of the episode where she supposedly died in the hospital. |
