Topic: What wouldn't you name your kids? | |
---|---|
So when you decide to have kids and have to choose a name for them we have names we would like to use but do we ever think of names to NOT use for our own?
Well, I refuse to name my kids with a name that would haunt them in school. Boys: Gayland, Sue, Richard, Summer Wind (I actually met someone who hated "Flower Children" becasue of his name. We called him Steve until we found out what his real name was. His mom was a Hippie and that was the name she gave him and he regretted it! We stuck with Steve.) Girls: Loretta, Easy, Flo... So what are names you would refuse to give your kids? |

I went to school with a large family. Elwood, Dalewood. Benwood..can't remember the other two's names. Probably a Dagwood if I'm not mistaken. They were always made fun of not just for their names but because the whole family had simular names ending in wood. I wouldn't name a girl Chasity. Knew of a guy who's son was named Semen. Knew some hippies that were named Yarrow, & Cedar. Wouldn't name a girl April, May, or June unless they were born during that month. Too confusing!!

Eugene, woody, dick I have a habit of using unisex names like jessie, courtney and dustyn...guess which ones are boys or girls did you name the boy courtney? I will likely have OCD to pick if a name if ever that were to occur so you may wanna just ask what names I would consider naming a child |

I am against unisex names...
I also am against back country names like rudd, budd, bessie. I made sure all three of kids had names that were sex-obvious. If you call my daughters by their name there is no questioning their sex...same as my son... |

Well, I refuse to name my kids with a name that would haunt them in school. i believe it's a parent's responsibility to do all they can to NOT mess up their kids. first an foremost it starts with a name. a child's name is the easiest thing for others to poke fun at without ever having to get to know the child and therefore should be one that commands respect and admiration. any combination of a city name or holiday and a season or weather event is a no no. . . . |
