This has never been just an American site - it is an international one. I am Canadian - my being here in no way suggests that I am 'targeting Americans'. That would be like me saying that the Americans who write to me are 'targeting Canadians'.

Many of us, especially if we are in smaller centers, have difficulty finding local people. Sometimes it is just a matter of geography.

If you go to "edit profile" you will see a drop down for countries. There is a long list of different countries.

The way the site is set up is more geared for the states because this site is based in the states.

Other countries have to adapt the best way they can to the options given. We have city and states here. Other countries may not have city and states.

In other countries it is city and country.

That is why it looks different than those in the states.

This is an international site for all countries. There are those looking for the one just like here. There are scammers in every country but not everyone from one country is a scammer.

Don't you have to BE in college to get into the ROTC? Also you have to consider that if you join as an "officer candidate" and you muster in as an officer there is no such thing as retirement. If you plan on a career in the military I say go ahead full steam with ROTC. Also knowing what the military WANTS can help you advance pretty fast too.

Just a friendly word of caution, don't bite off more than you can chew. The higher up the food chain you go the more responsibility you will bear. Command has its issues you will learn in the politics of the military. Meeting Performance Expectations is one of them and when you have several tasks on your plate and a bunch of people not doing their jobs right or not at all, well, motivating them to get it right can be a chore.

Also when you get in and are doing Boot Camp DO NOT SMILE AT THE D.I.. You will get yelled at at length. So many of my friends told me what BC was like for them. For the first two weeks you get yelled at a lot.

Now officer training... That is some fun stuff there! Fashion Sense for the Military... SORT OF but there is also discipline training, etiquette and is way different from boot camp.
