I've been on Mingle for nearly 3 years now... Hands down, It's a great site! I still remember when it was "Just say hi". Anyway... I have seen this site evolve in many different, exciting, and abstract ways. The forums have changed the most lately in my opinion. I'm not saying it's good, or bad... But it's not what I remember. I know, a lot of the people are different, but it seems like not too many have fun on here anymore? To me, it seems like people are "On guard"? Let's have fun!bigsmile Let's talk about anything, and everything, carefree like the good ole days! I wanna hear anything that makes or has made you all happy lately? So everybody... Be a sport! Tell me what's good!waving

Things change as people change. There are always new people around. If you are not satisfied with the way the forums are, change it. Create new threads that are more fun.

I'm new, but so far, have liked the site. Whats a good thang? New friends, finally going to have a weekend that doesn't have a heat index of 105 with 90% humidity! I just can't wait!!!

Now, off to make my contribution to the IRS.

Have a good weekend!

Oh, and my bad boy dog Jesse, hasn't got a "Dammit Jesse" this morning..lol

Mingle is an outlet for me to socialize outside of my usual circle. People I've met throughout my career continue to alter my greater view of life in general and help to spark ideas that further my career.
Lately though, the jobs that occupy most of my time are quite technical and clinical in nature which has stagnated the creativity that I used to live and breathe.
The forums here are great! Some of the posts I've read run the gamut from provocative to ethereal and in some ways have served as a muse to get me excited about trying new things related to photography.
When someone starts a thread that poses a question to this community there is an amazingly diverse response but every response has something the OP can learn from.
It's that drilling down into the core of those responses that got me thinking about macro photography and the use of invisible light to explore the possibilities of exposing the minute details of ordinary things that otherwise go unnoticed.
It's almost another dimension of consciousness.

I encourage difference... I just don't like it when people get downright mean. It's not helpful at all, nor is it couth. We're adults here... It seems like there have been many lately that show weakness in putting others down to try to impress. When, or where in society did this become right? It's not right, and I just want people to have a good time, and be happy. No put-downs. No insults. Let's all just be confident, and happy with being ourselves. We don't need to try so hard at being happy. I mean really? Are any of you happy after workin your butts off for something that hasn't yet happened? If you don't have anything nice to say... Don't say anything to say at all. I wanna hear good stuff! Come on people!

well, the people I usually joke around with aren't here, and usually it's in the S&I forum where we act up the most & get silly, but ya, it has been kinda "tame" in here lately, agreedwaving

The forums are different. I remember my first threads. It seemed like no matter what I posted, there was always some jerk tearing into me for it. People seem alot more reserved and thoughtful these days on the forums. I like it.

I remember my very first post...seems like it was only...almost 3yrs ago:banana: laugh

There are a lot of great people on here. I miss certain people who used to be on here all the time and kept things stirred up. Great new people tho.

Mingle pretty much helps me stay sane. Reminds me that I am not the only one with problems in the dating world. I wish I could get on more like I used to, but I really enjoy reading a lot of the threads when I am on.drinker
