I would think (okay..hope) that before it got to $10/gal that some of the really intelligent folks would have put some other form of energy in it's place. Be it some form of bio-fuel, new engine system, whatever.

If they did - and say they reduced the price back down to current levels - the price difference between 3.xx a gal, and 10.xx a gal would cover any replacement or upgrade to current vehicle engine costs quite quickly.

It is funny how there are those who criticize the cut and paste but it seems everyone has done it at one time or another, either to post a joke, a headline, etc.... Information is information, everyone gets it from one place or the other, I have yet to see a fully self researched, formatted and published work on here yet apart from the poetry section so people really need to get a grip, this is frivolous.noway huh grumble

.....Coming from the Queen of Cut/Paste........

Dragon - I have watched you cut/paste crap from any number of your various "I hate Bush, I hate Iraq War" sites that you ponder over daily, proclaim them as hard evidence, and then proceed to tell those who HAVE BEEN and ARE THERE that they are wrong when they correct the statements.

And now, let's move on to legalities - since you are one of the worst offenders - copyright infringements. Even after being warned, and having topics pulled off the boards here, you CONTINUE to post copyrighted works, for which you have ZERO permissions for. Personally - you are the one that needs "to get a grip" You are the worst type - those that cut/paste, hold themselves out as authority figures/intellects on a subject, and have absolutely no real-world experience to back up 3/4 of what you say. Which is likely why you resort to cut/paste - lack of options.

Do you really want to research everything to just have an audience argue your motive/intent on the research and turn around to come up with their own valid argument?

Actually yes - I want exactly that. If I take the time to research (learn) about an issue *personally* then I have increased my personal knowledge. If I have learned it with a slant in direction A, and someone can present me a logical, concise argument on Direction B - I want to hear it.

Cut/Paste means you put what I wrote into Google, and regurgitated what it put forth. You haven't learned a thing. You especially have not learned to debate a topic based upon what is bouncing around in your own brain cells. I "win" more debates in my profession on how to do things, just because I can present things IN MY OWN WORDS, in a logical fashion.

Any monkey can be taught to cut/paste. It takes an intelligent reasoning being to attempt to learn on their own.

this business of cut and paste is just forwarding someone elses research, which by its very nature is usually biased to some degree.

but but but but...it was on "IHateEverythingAboutNazisAndBush.org" on the Interweb!!!

How could it not be truthful and unbiased ?!?!?!?!

Its sorta sad how some people like to be led around by there noses

Such as you, in particular.

Funny how you purview anti-Bush sites far and wide, being convinced of your own mental superiority - and yet are lead around by the nose yourself.

Has the thought ever crossed any of your brain cells (and I know there are only four - One dwells upon the evils of Bush, One dwells upon the evils of Iraq, third is circling the first two trying to come up with something good, and the fourth is just clueless)

Ever think these "fair and unbiased" sites you go to *might* have some form of agenda themselves ?

Madison - you are just some form of rabid anti-Bu****e. I would ask how many of your type it takes to screw in a lightbulb, but it wouldn't really make a difference. The lot of you wouldn't realize you are still in the dark anyway.

rommel;

Perhaps, but I was eval'ing this more for the "Mom and Pop" type users, as well as the ones that traditionally would have the biggest heartaches - the "middle technology" types who just expect everything to 'just work'

See - Linux's main problem right now - is it can be set up so simple for a completely non-techy to work very well. It is easy for ones like me, very tech-oriented, to make it do whatever I want.

The middle ground - those who want to tinker and do advanced things, but lack the know-how to do things like cli, edit config files and the like - would be completely frustrated.

I think this release is one of the first that would allow them to 'tinker' without the frustration level.

Boxed and tossed in the ocean. Preferably the North Sea.

Figure it will be a religious experience for those who have to do it "Jesus H. <F'ing> Christ...get him over already - I am freezing..."

Yep...it certainly sucks!!

Least you have some good weather. Mine broke while it was 10 below out.
*sigh* That was a bit on the miserable side to fix.

Get the area good and warm if you can to dry it out - and either ventilate or get a dehumidifier going. (If they even sell those in New Mexico!)

Running the two side by side now. I will agree FF 2 does seem a bit faster, and renders more sites in a better way.

FF 3(beta) though - does look promising. And as I mentioned in the other thread - I am not running 'top of the line' hardware on my desktop. It is pretty decent, and can run most any Linux game at highest settings.

I haven't tweaked the kernel - yet - and am getting good performance.

Well, spent this morning loading the newest Ubuntu 8.04 on my desktop machine that I normally use for my tinkering around on the Internet and such.

Now, I will disclaimer everything with 1)I use Linux pretty much every day as part of my work. Servers and workstations. 2)I have been using Linux for some time now.

Ubuntu so far? Install was a breeze. If you have older NVIDIA cards, you will need a little help in the form of a utility called EnvyNG.

I had previous to this, a 64 bit install of Fedora, which did serve me well. After a couple hours of tinkering around - Kubuntu and KDE 4 are winning hands down!

Machine is very fast - and by today's standards is not a 'top of the line" machine.

Additional programs include Firefox 2 and 3(beta), OpenOffice suite, which has really made outstanding progress. In a nutshell, if you are looking to move from a already installed Linux installation, or just looking to try it out and see if it is workable for you - go get the KDE4 remix. I am VERY pleased so far.

Oh...they talk about that in the article - going over the word "obliterate" and how if she used that word, it was intentionally to mean only one possible recourse, etc etc etc etc.

I look at that as the "I am going to kill you" statement. We have all heard someone say that at one time or another - and right or wrong as it may be to say - rarely does the other person end up dead shortly there after.

Now, if she meant it as she isn't going to play around, she would give the military orders to flatten anything related to Iranian military command, control or facilities - again, I have no problem with that.

If you are going to go to war - stop fooling around. Subjugate your target, let them know you are not playing and being "diplomatic" and be done with it. If that means Tehran becomes a waste-land - so be it.

While some here do not understand the concept, as this doesn't exist in their Camelot world - you will get much farther in your diplomacy when the person at the other side of the table understands removal from power and even imminent destruction is an option you hold and are willing to use. Even if it is unspoken.

<chuckle> The first of many 'bouts' to come! It really is fun though.

Oh - and little tip - if you forget to use a little smoke to calm them down first - they get *really* perturbed when you take that lid off. If you happened to have also forgot to cover your arms, you are probably going to have a 'few' stings.

And yet Hilary outright states she intends to attack Iran, if they dont do what she wants tem to do....

Ohhkkkaayyy.... I would imagine a direct quote like that would make a big splash - but I haven't seen that. Links ?

Democratic Party presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s pledge to “obliterate” Iran if it attacks Israel marks a sharp escalation of threats against that country and its entire population.

This is an excerpt from the following link, which is just one of many. For more such stories, just google "Hilary Clinton Threatens to attack Iran....."

http://www.wsws.org/articles/2008/apr2008/iran-a24.shtml

Okay...and in this, the quote was Clinton would attack Iran, IF they attacked Israel.

Okay - been to Israel. Worked with some of the people there. Know what? If I had to choose another country besides the U.S. to live in - Israel would be on a very short list for me.

I have no problem with this - as long as she keeps her word. "Massive retaliation" Quite simple - you attack our friends, you pay the price.
