Yep...it certainly sucks!!
Least you have some good weather. Mine broke while it was 10 below out. *sigh* That was a bit on the miserable side to fix. Get the area good and warm if you can to dry it out - and either ventilate or get a dehumidifier going. (If they even sell those in New Mexico!) |

Had it happen to me, water line between upstairs and downstairs, destroyed the ceiling. Check with you homeowners insurance it covered a lot of my expences to get drywall replaced and repainted.

If you can afford one, wal mart sells a carpet scrubber for about 150 bucks. It will vacumn up the water, suppose you could do pretty much the same thing with a wet vac. But why not go ahead and get something you will use. Mine is made by hoover, it's called a spin scrub. has four rotating brushes, and also an upholstery attachment. Pretty neat. anyway, told you all that to tell you this. You definitely want to get that water out, mold is a serious thing. I know a young lady now who had a lung removed due to mold. so it is a serious problem. She is rich now, but minus a lung. Sorry your having this problem hope things improve. |
