And You ARE?

Some of my friends think I'm the guy that you can always count on. But of course that is how I think. I'm there for my friends when they need me to be. Just the way I was raised.
Of course, some of my friends from my college days think certain things that would probably be considered off topic... But then they know what happened... |

Pictures and Age

Some men don't look their age, in both directions. I don't know if I match up with my age, turning 30 in May... But, on that note, the same me in different shape, with a different job, and a different lifestyle wouldn't look the same as I do now...
Look at Tony Horton... 51 years old and still looks mid-thirties at best... You can't judge age by picture alone, you need all the other information they put on the driver's license...lol |

Peyton Manning dies and goes to heaven meeting St. Peter at the pearly gates. St. Peter welcomes him and takes him on a tour of heaven.
As they are walking St. Peter begins, "During your stay in heaven you can stay in any house you want. Please take your pick once you see the one you want." As they are walking Manning sees a house, a huge one, colored in Silver and Blue, with a large sprawling yard, a house fit for a true Colts fan king. He immediately says thats the one he wants. They both head to the house to get Manning settled in, and over the next hill Manning notices another house, even larger than the one he just chose. It is decked out in Red White and Blue and his new home will only pale by comparison. He asks St. Peter. "I like my house, it is more than I will ever need, but why is Tom Brady's so much better?" St. Peter replies, "That's not Tom Brady's house, that house belongs to God." |

The past

During the rise of the Roman Empire. Being military, I would love to live during a time when being part of the greatest military power was a mark of distinction and regarded as noble. When it wasn't completely overrun with political redtape and b.s.

Yes. That's the dilemma, isn't it? The military as a jobs program. As to the military keeping us safe, true to some extent. At the same time, foolish use of the military puts us in grave danger. We have decades of history to show that. I pose no argument to that last part. There are better things we could be doing with the money instead of putting our nose in wars that have been going on for millenias... But then, I do what I'm told, "Shut up and color" as the saying goes. Proper defense spending would help. |

What does the defense budget pay for???
Let's see... Supplies, vehicles, weapons... Of course there are thousands of things that your tax dollars go to to help keep this country safe... And trust me, we (myself being a military member) keep you safe. 9-11 happened because politicians didn't see warning signs that could have prevented such an occurance. We have not had a full blown war on American soil since the Civil War. Why is that??? Because the DEFENSE BUDGET pays for the preventative measures put in place to make sure your hometown isn't bombed by somebody that doesn't like our way of life. Now, back to where the budget goes... Food, clothing, housing allowances, PAYCHECKS <<< Now, if they cut down the defense budget, where will the US military make the cuts. Hate to tell you, it will be military paychecks. I don't serve my country for a paycheck, but I still need the paycheck to live. I can make a hell of a lot more doing my job of expertise in the civilian sector, but I want to serve and protect my country, so I take a subpar (as compared to the civilian sector) paycheck to do so. I promise you, if you cut the defense budget, it will effect military pay. Cause and effect dictates that then you will see more and more people choosing not to join or stay in the military. We have lives to live to. If numbers go down, the strongest military force in the world will dwindle, and what comes next is something I am sure you don't want to see, you might be watching the fight, except you won't have to spend money on cable tv and electricity to watch it. You'll just have to open your shades and look in your backyard. You say the defense budget doesn't help keep you safe? Whens the last time you had to worry about a hand grenade flying through your son or daughter's bedroom window. 9-11 proved one thing, it can happen here. Cut the defense budget, watch the military power dwindle, and get ready to see how bad it could really get... |

Jobs: Then and Now

Then: Customer Service at small town grocery store (bagger). Like the extra cash, hated the job.
Now: Network Infrastructure Technician for the US Air Force Reserves. Love my job and plan on making a career of it. |

Being too reasonable?

Cranky pants? Wow, didn't realize stating my view on something made me cranky. But then, everybody has a right to their opinion... Now why do you think she meant you? Am I missing something? Maybe she didn't, of course I never said I was always right...lol |

I never argue, If Iam right they will eventually find out, if they never find out i dont care as long as I can stay happy And not have tolisten to someone lecture me or try and change my mind Hmm... NEW STRATEGY, and it seems a whole lot less stressful... |

pick up lines = cliche...
I've always liked Russell Crow's line in a Beautiful Mind. "So can we just skip all this and jump straight to the sex?" |

I never back down when I know I'm right, based on factual evidence of course. Though, that might be why I'm single... True.. I used to be the same way but I've learned to back off if not down completely.. Of course if it's something I believe in so completely then I can't back down and don't see a reason I should... It's tough, because I only do it when I know I'm right. So, backing down in that situation would be lying to circumvent arguement, which, as hard as it is to believe, I don't lie. I used to when I was a kid, but once I got older I realized lying just catches up with you eventually, so you might as well be upfront from the start and deal with the consequences at that point. Just gets worse as time passes. As for the not backing down, like I said, I only refuse to back down based on fact. Can't argue against fact, but surprisingly people still try. |

Anybody who believes life is supposed to be easy is lying to themselves. As for the giant chasm, life is full of challenges, and how your life goes will depend on what you do when you face adversity. I'm a firm believer that there is a solution to every problem you face in this world, you just have to be willing to take the risk, put forth the effort, and stay steadfast in your resolve. As for crossing the proverbial chasm(s) that lay in front of you... Find a proverbial tree, build yourself a bridge, and cross safely, but always remember what you had to do to make it, because one day you'll have to do it again but learning along the way makes the next challenge a little bit easier.
