If cnn goes down in flames, it will. Their ratings are tanking as we speak. These popup news services are taking hold reasonably well. Jeff Zucker resigning is just the start. What has to happen, is sponsorship has to stop sending their dollars to cnn. As much as we don't want to see it, I think a recession will drive them out. Facebook, Spotify, has to watch their investors bail on them first. Change only happens when their dollars start leaving them.

The term, "Dollars talk, BS walks" is going to come into focus soon.

Omnicron blew right thru the population of the U.S. shots didn't stop it, masks didn't stop it..closures. distancing.. booster. nope. didn't even slow it down
nothing stopped it... it only slowed when it was running out of people to infect.
This virus is out of the bag and is not going away. It will continue to morph to stay ahead of the vaccines. The next one could be very deadly and unstoppable
This is the " new world" ...better get used to it .

Yup. The first round, I knew nobody that got it. The second round, friends of friends did. This last one, Two unrelated groups of my friends got it. All said they knew they had it, and were uncomfortable for a day or two.

It's petering out, but the lefties don't want it to go away. It won't make everyone dependent on mother government.

Thanks Rock for pointing out:

The MAP IS as of Nov 26

and the tiny squares scattered show the then
'newly arrived Russian troops,

mainly inside Belarus as: 9000 (new)
and on Russia-Ukraine border as: 6000

Your link gives an update as of 23 Jan 22:
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-01-23/russian-troops-ukraine-threat-war-global-stakes-west-power/100772162

If we go as per Map - then 50,000 Russian troops were spread along the border in Nov and,

Since most news reports give the updated figure as 100,000 the additional 50,000 may have been deployed in Dec / Jan Still a cause for deepest concern.

For Indians reading this,
abc.net.au link is blocked in India by ministry here.

When might the Russian invasion happen? What are they waiting on?

The weather.

They won't invade without tanks. In the Ukraine, the ground isn't frozen yet. The longer they wait, their chances go down. It's now February. Chances are it won't freeze. Their next chance if it doesn't? Not until summer when it dries out. If it does.

A fierce-some invasion force. That's held up if it rains.

And a bunch of leftys won't get off nagging conservatives about using ivermectin as a preventive. Like we all go on a frantic search for the stuff. It's actually laughable, really. Some friends run a farm store, a lot of their sales are to horse people. They carry it. I asked them if it was flying off the shelves. No, it wasn't. The sales of it are actually slow.

Shows just one thing. Brainless leftys think that since the MSM talked about it, conservatives are doing it. You'd think at some point, they would wise up and grow some brains.

But then, I'm assuming leftys have brains to begin with.

Now that the first country Denmark says that they will lift the corona restrictions and it looks like Norway and Sweden are heading the same way. Media and politicians feel the need to focus elsewhere. For a week now they have started to scare people about the Russian/Ukrainian conflict. It's not a new conflict. But suddenly WW3 can start. Russians are shaking there heads in disbelief and think the west has gone crazy. But the filthy rich needed the stock exchange to drop so that they can scam small time investors yet again. When will regular people learn not to invest in stock I wonder? And also governments should stop doing it.
I don't understand how filthy rich people can sleep at night with all the suffering they inflict on humanity?
Stocks go up and down, there's nothing new about that. I'm regular people, I invest in stocks. Here's a real novelty for ya. I make money in stocks. The big trick of it, is to not panic sell. But not everyone is level headed about it. When people started panic selling in 2008, I bought. Even my broker thought I was nuts. I relieved him of that problem, and took my business to someone else.

Rich people can sleep at night. Because they aren't twisting the arms of regular people to buy stock. They just say it's your risk, we hope you do well at it.

Looking for someone to blame? Try the Day Trader. They make stocks jump up and down more than anyone.

I'm on another community, that Trump is alive and living in their heads-a LOT! I'm not sure who they hate more. Trump, or conservatives.

None can figure out how anybody could possibly be a republican on that one. Most all of them desperately want the fed to pick up their college tuition, and pay their existing loans off. They are sure that the sun rises and sets on AOC, and
beat-o. Which is rather funny, because most don't care for biden.

I laugh a lot at them.

obama cracked our fuel reserves while he was in office. It got replaced when Trump's move to open up our oil deposits. Now that doofus is making a mess, replacement won't happen until another conservative gets elected to office.

I saw the topic, I just had to look at it.

I've watched it on tv. It is, the most confusing thing I have ever seen. Obviously, it has rules. I thought, if I watched a game played, I'd figure it out. Not a chance.

haha obviously, if you just get to know the rules of cricket, it will make ur brain go Boom. So South Asian countries, Cricket is like a religion. We follow it from our childhoods still sometimes some rules are hard to understand
Yeah, it looks like a fast moving chess match. The more I see it, the less I know about it. When you, who watches it, doesn't understand all of the rules to the game, It makes me feel just wee bit less stupid.

Biden and the Democrats lates push is for "voters rights" and they are even thinking of changing the rules of the Senate to push it thru even thou there was "no fraud" in the 2020 election. However they wasted 2yrs saying the Russians interfered with the 2016 and after all that investigation and trying to impeach Trump all they could find was a few Russian citizens that posted some stuff on Facebook. Why shouldn't we require prof of ID when voting, they tried to make us show prof of vaccination to work, and most major cities you need prof of vaccination to eat in a restaurant. So why is it so hard to show prof of ID when you vote? And if you are going to vote you should at least take the effort to make it to the poll, or fill out some forms to get a mail in ballot. The Democrats just want to mail the ballots to all those whom may vote for them knowing they would be to lazy to do the steps it would take to actually vote if it weren't handed to them.

Anyone who is at least 18yrs old, not a convicted felon, is a legal citizen, and is not dead is allowed to register and then vote, it's not that difficult, easier then doing your taxes. Which brings me to my next point, maybe only those who actually contribute money to the government should be allowed to vote? If the government gives you more money then you pay in taxes why should you have a say in what they do with that money? At what point is it considered buying your vote? Or here's another thought, how bout we vote when we file our taxes? Or even better the amount of tax you pay influences the power of your vote? If you pay $1000 you could get one vote, if you pay $100k in taxes you get 100 votes. It seems to me the more you give the more say you should have in how they are spending YOUR money.
Voting according to what you pay in taxes would open up a huge can of worms that you don't want. A large percentage of the people in this country would wind up having no voice in how it operates.

Voting by mail is not a good option. It opens up so many ways of cheating. Dead people, fictitious people would just come crawling out of the woodwork in droves. It may ruin your day, but voting in person, with ID like a drivers licence, or state ID is the only way we will ever see a fair vote. Absentee voting can be checked on.

biden's press conference was a huge joke. Most of the public's pressing issues were never breached. No inflation? Yeah, I'd expect that from someone who hasn't walked into a store in years. I'd bet good money that his wife hid the car keys years ago from him. That guy has no clue about what's going on in this country.

Compared to Chernobyl this was just a minor incident. There are many, much better places to get oil from, but too many people saying not in my back yard. These folks on the rig knew it could be dangerous and were paid well, so well it is sad they lost their lives, it is also sad to see what happens to the environment when too often these events happen because of carelessness or reckless actions.

If we look at the actions people propose to changing the things that are damaging the earth there are different approaches, some aimed at saving the environment and creatures, while others just focus on what it takes to save humans, or protect the comfort of humans. Human control over the affects from nature are rapidly growing, things such as people living longer lives, and increased production of food. Nature is in a constant battle to try and balance its self off, but the drastic changes that people are causing makes it very difficult for nature to keep up.

So what can be done to protect planet earth? For start we could control population growth, every human has a carbon footprint no matter how simple their life is. We could do a way better job of recycling, 99% of what we throw away could be recycled or composted, but between convenience, cost and laziness too often it just goes to a land fill or in some cases our oceans. Sometimes this is also a result of using more energy or material then it's worth to recycle. Garbage can also be burnt for energy, you may think this would create a lot of pollution, but letting something decay also created pollution and if burnt correctly it can be very efficient. Peoples love of travel, their need for useless goods, their desire not to be to hot or cold, all use large amounts of resources. People could work closer to home, use products produced closer to home, and less of them. Keep the heater, and air conditioning from working so hard and allow their bodies to adapt to changing temperatures.

New energy sources are out there and yet to be discovered. Hydro (water) power has been used for centuries, yet there is much more talk about wind and solar at this time. The problem with anything electric is you lose about half the power (energy) by the time it's transmitted. Windmills are affecting birds and may even be changing some weather patterns, solar only happens during daylight, it can be expensive to produce the panels, and think about adding all that black surface area to the earth that will create more heat. If they could use the roadways for these panels it would be a win, win. I started with Chernobyl so not a good time to bring up nuclear, but it is a very effective way to create energy, could be used to heat as well as produce electricity, just a matter of making it safer and protecting the waste for millions of years. In order to get away from heating homes with gas we can use geo thermal and radiant solar, not sure if in the big picture messing with the ground would have an effect on nature, I'm sure something would show up.

I'm sure now everyone will take actions on their own to save the planet, but then again you only live once so why not just enjoy it while you are here and let nature take it's coarse?

Some of your suggestions smack of Agenda 21. Have you read it?
Solar works in some areas. In my area, it's only good for about 8% efficiency. Hardly worth putting panels up, and you'd never see them paying for themselves.
I haven't looked it up, but I understand England does use burning garbage for electric power already. But some sort of fluke in the weather, about three years ago made them burn wood pellets- My heat source. By march 15, there was none to be had-anywhere. I had enough to get me to the end of the month, then I had to rely on electric space heaters. That stunk.
I don't believe EV's are the answer. Too many politicians are rushing to that, thinking that demand is going make them come up with better vehicles. I don't believe that for a minute. They claim that more EV's being produced will drive the cost down. Baloney! Estimates on lithium available set us at five decades before lithium runs out. Nickle is also needed for those batteries. The biggest source for that is the Amazon Rain Forests. Doing that would cuts out the "Lungs of the earth" A very dumb move.
Think everyone is going live in a spartan like existence? No way. I am not an urban dweller. I hate all big cities, too many people. I might be able to live in a town of 10K or less, but count on me to be one surly cuss that doesn't get along with others.Put me in an apartment, I will be one unhappy person, that would probably lash out at anyone.

We need to come up with some viable options without cutting off what we have going right now.Rushing it won't work. From my grade school science class, I was told that plant life needs CO2 to survive. Ten years ago, I lived on some pretty barren ground, with just weeds growing on it. Now I live in a wooded area, because I let the trees grow. One patch of ground I remember as a kid to be farmed ground went to seed. 40 years later, I'm cutting up dead trees for firewood that are 2-3 feet across the trunk, off that same previously farmed ground. These idiot environmentalists need to actually go and look at what is happening, rather than reading about it.

I wish I had saved a photo that was on facebook last month. It was a photo of a 1967 Chevy pickup truck. The motor was long gone out of it, the hood was gone. Up inside the engine compartment was a Pin oak tree, 18 inches across the trunk. Nobody took that truck apart, and back together around that tree. Trees grow that fast.

I knew that going in with him. What he claimed, vs. what he's done is about par for the course.

His congressional record said it all, yet no one that was a dem chose to believe that he would accomplish nothing. Why did he win?

He had a D next to his name, and nothing more.

Rush was right.

It's just plain wrong. These jerks are doing it just to claim records. A mediocre athlete crosses over, becomes some sort of star, then can claim some sort of notoriety for the rest of their lives.

I call them climbers. Other noteworthy climbers are the bidens, pelousy, waters,aoc,kill-liar-ry among others. Yeah, they made it. But the job you got to, is beyond your skillset. Thanks a heap for screwing things up for everyone else. Please go away now, your services are no longer wanted. Go home, then go make appearances at your local supermarket, so others can get excited over seeing you in person.Bye.

Oh, British Columbia. My question still stands, how many times did you vote for biden in the last election?

What else could anybody expect. That’s the way she rolls. At Pearl Harbor an enemy tried to kill as many Americans as they could, with bombs and bullets, on 9/11 an enemy flew flying bombs in to buildings trying to kill as many Americans as possible, on j6 a bunch of pissed off American's decided to protest the highly suspicious election results. Nobody came armed, none of the protesters killed anybody. Armed with flags they proceeded to enter the Capitol and take selfies. If she’s looking for a dark day in our recent history, look no farther than the months of antifa and BLM riots . People le died at the hands of these thugs and she wants to sweep that under the rug. How can anybody take her seriously.

Wrong. Some of the protesters carried firearms. Even if they fired no shots, they used plenty of other weapons, including bear spray, baseball bats, hockey sticks, lengths of rebar, flagpoles fire extinguishers, and then riot shields, stolen from Capitol Police officers they beat up, to break windows.

We don't know if BLM protesters killed anybody, as there were lots of people running around fighting and looting without affiliation to BLM or Antifa. Sure, Trumpsters claim they were all BLM, just like they claim that most of the rioters on 1/6 were Antifa. Never mind the fact that all the people identified and arrested are known to be Trump supporters.
Were you there? Do you know for sure? Or were you believing the MSM? Because, if YOU were there, then a fair number of dem were there also. If not, then you're believing the MSM propaganda bureau.(A.K.A Rolling Stoned ragazine) I hope you enjoyed the Left's theater presentation of Jan.6. Think they'll get an Emmy for that mess?

Very much so. Had George Floyd just co-operated, he might be still walking around today.

People just don't grasp the idea that a cop is not judge and jury. He is just there to enforce the law. Any cop would be just tickled to death to not have to fight someone during a arrest.

The cop that shot Michael Brown, had shot the cop to begin with. Then, as he was going away, he decided to charge that cop instead. I'm quite sure that cop had to drop him, or be dead himself.

Right now, the heads of the BLM are seeing cash coming at them-And they ARE helping themselves to it. Hey! I got mine! BYE!!! They clearly don't give a rap about their fellow black people.

It's become an organization for all the wrong reasons.

And yet apparently there is still nobody that wants to work? The ships are backing up at the Port because nobody there to unload them. It's said we are about 22,000 truck drivers short of where we should be. The stores and restaurants are cutting hours and services because they can't find help, mean time our government is handing out money left n right, but to all the wrong places. Biden wants to spend $3trillion on some stupid projects and they have already dumped $5 trillion into the ecconomy in the last couple years. What do you think is going to happen? The rich will get richer n the poor will get poorer, and the hard working middle-class will get drug down by both sides. "Let's go Brandon" and all his other buddies and their socialist agenda.
Well, for one thing, diesel semitractors over ten years old aren't allowed to travel in Commefornia. They pollute, as if you didn't know that.I hope that mandate has not spread to farm tractors. If it has, not many farmers will be able to continue their livelihood. Few can afford the 100K plus outlay for a new tractor. Most of our farms operate with equipment that's 20-40 years old.I know one that just laid out 80K for a new utility tractor. No way he can farm 250 acres with just that. He has to rely on his 1980, 140 horse tractor for his major field work. That wouldn't fly in Commiefornia. What does he grow? Cabbage, sweet corn, peppers, pumpkins, green beans. If he sold out to a major corporate farm, they grow nothing but field corn, and soy beans. The produce department in your local grocery just suffers a bit more.
Isn't socialism a grand thing to behold?

Exactly right! A perfect example is our Vice President she’s is obviously not fit for that position but because she identifies as a black women joe decided that would be his best choice for his running mate. What a horrible mistake that was.

Kamala Harris meets all the requirements of the office. She's US-born and exceeds age and residency requirements. She's accomplishing as much or more than Mike Pence or Dan Quayle. I'm sure she's not Republican enough for you, but that's a feature; not a problem.
Mike Pence was the governor of my state. We thought he did a good job, because we re-elected him to another term as Governor. Dan Quayle stepped out of politics after his term of vice president. So how come we kept referring to harris as princess spread eagle? And just why did she lay an egg in Iowa?
