I don't think you need counseling. Heck, it took me 5 years to get over one guy and about 7 to get over another, and I'm far from "crazy." Everyone is different and we all deal with things that hurt us in different ways. I'm sorry this happened to you, but I do agree with the people who told you it's for the best; if you just wanted friendship with her, it wouldn't have mattered, but since you wanted her as a gf, it wouldn't have worked. Yep, you can't help how other people take things. I don't see what's wrong with saying you want to be friends with someone. It's better than saying I don't like you and I don't want to talk to you anymore.

I'm quite certain about what I want to do with my life, thank you. Like I have no interest in being an astronaut, I seriously doubt if that will change "with time." I like to think I'm one of the few adults who knows what she wants if anything. And wow, getting married just to please someone, that's really um...great. :P
