I guess, judging by the hat you are wearing that you are from the US. Soccer (or football as we call it in Europe) is kinda the equivalent to either Basketball, Baseball, or American Football in the US. Kinda like the World Series with Baseball... It is massively overhyped but still one of the most watched events other than in the US I guess... Kinda one of theose isnt it

I think the past is usually your first point of reference for present day events and future potentials... That is where your experience comes into it. If you had some/a lot of bad experiences in succession, your reference points are going to give you a more cautious approach to the present and possibly the future. There are others who pretend they dont ever let the past get on top of them because life is good at the moment... but then irony kicks some serious arse when life is no longer good.

What I say is; Take everything with a pinch of salt, dont take things or yourself too seriously. The one last bit of freedom we have other than breathe polluted air, is that we are all still free to make a concious decision and decide what we let bother us. There are only three fixed things in life; God, You and the Universe... the rest is what it is and will probably change with time

You know, I agree with this lady..
If I can be really honest what I would do (and most people on here have probably had something similar happen to them at some point), tell her how you feel and that she isn't meeting you half way. Tell her it feels (to you) that you are having to do all the work and it can't work out like that. Then tell her to go and sort herself out. Dont get in touch with her and I am willing to bet that within a couple days she will have thought about it and she will get in touch. If she doesn't she probably isn't worth it and it will have saved you a lot of hassle and as you seem pretty young, she will have saved you a lot of time in which you will just have felt worse and worse as time goes by. Guess what; learning to say enough is enough is probably one of the hardest things to teach yourself... The sooner you master that, the sooner you get what you want out of life. Simple as that

If that stuff is happening, say you do like her.... but if you keep trying to please her, you are just going to feel worse and worse about yourself and what you are doing, especially if it is getting you nowhere. Guess maybe you should stop chasing rainbows fella. There are nice girls out there and more often than not they are right under your nose.
