Last Wave is excellent. Picnic still creeps me out during the scene when the girls disappear. A beautifully shot film. There's an excellent documentary about Australian Exploitation- "Not Quite Hollywood: The Wild, Untold Story of Ozploitation!" It talks about Australia's history in sexploitation, horror, action. Long Weekend(penned by Everett De Roche- whose penned some fantastic Australian films) '78 is an excellent Aussie slow-burn horror film about a couple who go camping out in the woods but because of their total lack of caring about nature, nature decides to get even. It's one of those films that slowly works under your skin. |

Has anyone seen a lil sleeper w/ Gene Wilder... circa 1975 ... ...The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother ... ??? SO funny as I recall ... I love early Woody Allen too: Sleeper!!! Annie Hall Stardust Memories Edit for bolding! Love Sleeper, also Manhattan Murder Mystery. Two of my favorite Sherlock Holme's comedies: Without a Clue '86 -Michael Caine is hilarious as a drunken clueless Holmes, and it's Watson(Ben Kingsley) who solves the crimes. Hound of the Baskervilles '78 -Dudley Moore as Watson, and Peter Cook as Sherlock. |
