Regret

I may regret the pain that follows, but I've never regretted the chance to love and be loved.
I hope I never do.... |

question for the guys...
|
|
Most the guys I date feel the same way about paying, and I think it's very sweet. I'm "old school" enough that I appreciate a man who likes to be the provider. I don't NEED them to be, but I do like the sentiment.
That said, I like to "contribute" too, so I will cook dinner for him, rent the movie, get concert or Rockies tickets..things like that so we can have a special evening that is my treat without the old "battle for the bill." He's not embarressed or uncomfortable, I feel like I'm contributing too, so for me that's always been a win-win! |

Do you care?

it is easy to spot and actor and a fake, as the reason given for it's own actions will be because of a belief??? the only true reality is what actually happen, not what one surmizes will happen even before it happen??? it cannot be true reality if it is what self chase as a belief??? the greatest evidence of what be real and true self is one only seeing and saying it does what it want in each situation??? following a good belief is like following a ghost, and a ghost is always the first to profess itself be what it think is all good things??? guess that means you don't agree, lol..... it's philosophy man, you gotta read it slooooooooooooooooooooooow, lol....... it is designed so that if one actually read and absorb it, it envoke deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeper thought??? lol..... peace man Ayn Rand fan, perhaps? |

Practically Perfect
|

I don't expect perfection. That's like falling in love with love ~ an image, an illusion ~ not with the actual person.
But...when I find someone special and I see the little flaws if I can look past them and still care about that person ~ THAT has potential! |

Do you care?

i care. the world doesnt need any more apathy. Maybe not, but if you have feelings about, say, a cousin of a mingler you have never spoken to who was in a car wreck and broke his legs, shouldnt you break down into tears when you see a million starving homeless Africans? I care...and I know that one persons suffering is just as valid as another persons. Whatever they are feeling, they ARE feeling. I don't compare their pain with that of others, but try to offer comfort when I can. My life has been impacted by the kindness of strangers many time, all who had nothing to gain by it. That spirit of compassion, generousity, and decency is what I believe in, what I aspire to, and why I continue to care. Me personally, I wouldn't want to be any other way! |

Captain America, for obvious reasons! He may not have all the techno-gadgets or incredible superpowers, but I like what he stands for.
Other than that, I thought the Fork Guy on Mystery Men was pretty cool!!! |

"I'm looking for a girl just like my Mom. If you can cook like my Mom, act like my Mom, and basically be a clone of my Mom I am interested!" Mama Mia!!!! Not sure if this qualifies as a fetish or just freaky! Next.... Yeah, but there's no rule that says Oedipus can't have a profile.... True...even if his Mama wrote it for him! |

BOLDLY GOING
|
|
ever feel like you just want to take a few steps away from the world? and then keep walking? Yes, I think we all do from time to time. That's when I try to work in some "cave time," where I can shut myself off for a while to think about what's wrong, so I can appreciate what's right! If nothing else, you get tired of your own company after a while and are ready to re-engage again! Is that a luxury? No, it's a survival technique and is MUCH cheaper than therapy! Just remember...this too shall pass! |

Congrats on your act of selflessness! I've done that too in the past and even got to meet the girl that received my hair for her wig after radiation.
Such a small thing that can mean so much to someone else! |

Movies that make you cry.
|
|
I just watched The Family Stone on tv and cried like a baby (I know, silly right?). What movies make you cry? I hate to say this, but I cried too..especially when the son finds out the Mom is dying. The way Mulroney and Keaton portray that part is so moving. Yeah....I am a little b*tch! Yes....but you're our b*tch!! Nothing wrong with being senti-MENTAL though! j/k For me, An Affair to Remember, Brian's Song, My Best Friends Wedding, Pay It Forward....to name a few! I am so "mental"...wait...that isn't a good thing though right? Depends...are we talking "One Flew Over the Cockoo's Nest" mental or crazy in love mental?!?!?! |

Despite the fact that we are all adults now, my Mom still makes us all bundle up on Christmas Eve in the middle of our family get together to go caroling at the homes of several shut-ins. We all grumble about it, but wouldn't have it any other way.

The Houdini act is the most cowardly, and the most painful for the person on the receiving end!
Vanishing without a word of explanation ~ there's no honor in that. |

Vent Or Circumvent

I have been a problem solver but it is nice to hear the input of friends. Sometimes I get problems that I have trouble solving. I can understand that, but have learned a hard lesson in the last few years. Because I AM a problem solver I'm often handed problems that aren't mine to solve. Learning when to step in to handle the problem and when to step back....THAT can be it's own dilemma and a little harder to resolve. I'm getting there though and believe that I am better for it too! |
