Topic: Do you care? | |
---|---|
When you see a thread and someone is ill, dying, dead or whatever..do you REALLY give a damn?
I ask because i see a lot of falseness, and people PRETENDING to care. Most often, if i am honest, i couldnt give a damn. For me it all depends on how well i know somebody. A friends son passed away very recently and i DO care, i have know her a long time and met her in person twice. But when its someone i dont really know, which is the case for the majority of people here, or its this someone's friend, relative or budgie, it doesnt really provoke any interest or emotion in me. So what?! There is sh1t happening to people all over the world that i dont know, its not my problem and there is nothing i can do about it anyway...oh look a peanut.. So...who really does care for peoples problems when they dont know the people? |

Yeah, I do. I mean not in the sense that they are a personal friend - but just that the loss is sad and I feel sorry for the family that is going through the ordeal.

People that nuture care....... others say words but words are good too. In life we all do what is good. ( most) Sometimes just kind words are all one needs. Take time to say something nice. It makes you feel good too.

I care in limited fashion as it is, but if they are associated with a friend I do care...don't typically put in a reply if I don't really care.

All humans are my family whether they know me or not in my eyes. |

When I was younger, I didn't give a damn if everyone died. But after you lose most everyone and see people that you love lose people, you tend to be a bit less macho and a lot more sensitive to that...and everything else.
I've never really had any online "friends", just people that I talked with from time to time. Believing that comfort is given by loved ones, I've never given my sympathy to strangers. But some DO have friends on here and it's good to know that your friends are thinking of and praying for you. If by chance, you grow old(er), you'll do the same. I would hope. |

i care. the world doesnt need any more apathy. Maybe not, but if you have feelings about, say, a cousin of a mingler you have never spoken to who was in a car wreck and broke his legs, shouldnt you break down into tears when you see a million starving homeless Africans? |

Yes, I care.
Don't you have a thread about having the flu and then it turned worse? Didn't you like it when we all wished you well? |

What can you do for a million starving people...and what can you do for your friend who could use some kind words? If my friends husband dies, I don't give my condolences to him...I give them to her. Like I said before, sickness and death will touch your life. Don't ask questions about the philosophy of death and sympathy. Just wait. You'll understand soon enough. And, my condolonces on your loss...in advance. |

its a generic care. a care i feel for anyone i hear is suffering. not the bone deep painful care you feel for your own kin. get it?
i usually avoid those topics. |
