Fusion, sent you an email with the link to her site - did you receive?

She should log in and click the reactivate. That will activate her again. And, if it still gives her issues, post in the Help forum and someone can assist :)

There was another post in the help section that referenced deactivation. I would tell your friend to reactivate (all she has to do is log in and select Reactivate profile), and if it happens again, post in the Help forum.

Best part of being single?

When I have a brutal day at work and just don't feel like being social, I don't have to try to explain to someone why I'm not talking!

I had one email me yesterday. His photo was obviously taken from the internet, he listed his profession as "impoter of fine african fabrics" and he told me that he had been overwhelmed by my profile and believed himself to be ready to settle down with me. Now, I know my profile isn't the worst one out there, but it sure isn't written so well as to induce random marriage proposals either!
I couldn't help myself, I toyed with him a bit until he got frustrated and quit talking to me. |

It doesn't have to be serious. How about, why is it that men should put the toilet seat down, why can't women put the toilet seat up? I couldn't care less if the toilet seat is left up or down. I check before I sit, so I don't sweat it. There are far more entertaining things to argue about :) I'm not trying to pick an argument, just to expand a mind or two. lol I know you're not. I meant between men and women in a relationship. Sorry, should have clarified :) |

Let's get high on mental stimulation, by blowin each others minds. I'll start. Did you know that all electricity is, is just extra electrons thrown into orbit around the nucleous of an atom. With the extra electron, the atom becomes wobbly and chucks an electron of to stabilize itself, and the next atom catches it and does the same thing, down a chain of atoms, which becomes electrical current. Now this is the trippy part. When we accidently shock ourselves, all the atoms between the positive and the ground, in our body are being rearranged on an atomic level. Brand new electrons, or at least, new to us. Cool huh? I'm sorry. I know this is supposed to be a serious thread, and I'll wander off in a moment. I enjoy deep conversations, but tonight I'm just not there mentally. Had to post, though, because this line: "the atom becomes wobbly and chucks an electron of to stabilize itself" made me think of my australian friend who used to complain that her pc was "chucking a wobbly". It made me giggle. Carry on! |

My grandmother used to tell me not to swim in a pool that had teen boys in it, for that very reason. Arguing with her that the chlorine would surely destroy any rogue sperm that might be swimming about didn't get me anywhere. (Yes, I knew that there was no way to get pregnant that way, but I had to try to fight at her level).
The woman is bound to be horribly embarrassed if/when the daughter confesses. |

OMG I think I would have killed that dog! LOL I know what you mean though. I finally bought me a weed eater today (I have not had one for 2 years since my divorce) and decided to get my yard cut. Well every muscle in my body is pissed off and retaliating! Getting old truly sucks! Believe me, I considered it, lol. Instead he got a bath - in his eyes, that's a fate worse than death, so I got my revenge :) I know what you mean about the yard work, too. I stay very active, but there are some things that I just can't do anymore without feeling it the next day! |

My body has decided to let me know in no uncertain terms that it is NOT as young as it once was.
The other day, my dog (a siberian husky mix) decided he'd been good long enough and escaped - he broke his leash while I was loading him into the van, and took off at top speed. I had no choice but to pursue, because he was not obedience trained by his previous owner and a mere whistle to stop him just makes him laugh and keep running. To make matters worse, the fair is in town, and the fairgrounds aren't far from where I live. He's a very friendly dog, but his size and the fact that he looks very wolf-like doesn't help when people see him for the first time. He led me on quite a merry chase through the park, then through the fairgrounds, then back to the park. I have not had to run at that speed for that distance since my high school track days, and I was doing it in sandals to boot. He finally made the mistake of splashing into the creek after some ducks, and I was able to tackle him there before he could get back out of the water. Was a less than dignified walk back, as the creek bed is solid mud & sucked off my sandals, and my flying tackle had me landing almost face first in reeking creek mud. I had to try to maintain dignity while covered in mud from head to toe, barefoot, and leading an unrepentant dog who was also completely filthy. Today, I have hardly been able to move, lol. It hurts to walk, so I canceled my plans for this evening and haven't moved from the couch much all day. I know people say that you're only as old as you feel, but my brain and my body are apparently in disagreement as to what age that is! |

Have had this happen to me. Unfortunately, I have no pearls of wisdom that will erase the confusion, and you'll probably never get a concrete answer from him. Best thing I can recommend is to just tell yourself it's better that you found out now rather than much further down the road.
This will sound like a platitude, but you truly are better off without him. |

mutual matching

then how does it show up to other people who i mutual match? If you click yes or maybe, then the other person gets an email that says something along the lines of "someone wants to meet you". It doesn't tell them who, so they won't know that it's you. If they happen to click yes or maybe on your profile, then you're a "mutual match". |

I believe that the criteria is just people who fall into your search settings. So, if you have your criteria set to women from 18-25 within 10 miles of your zip, anyone falling into that range with a photo on their profile will be presented as a mutual match candidate.

My biggest worry is far from the meeting the parents, but the topics that come up during conversation. Has anyone been in a position where your date asked a question that left you silent due to a past experences? Not sure what you mean by past experiences? Do you mean that the date asks about something you'd rather not talk about, or that you're afraid to answer due to past reactions when you did answer that question? |
|
|
|
My biggest worry is whether or not the conversation will flow easily or if there are going to be awkward pauses (not to be confused with natural pauses).

Nice one! A woman I used to work with does fractals, and she's gotten good enough that she's selling them at little galleries in her hometown. I will see if I can locate the link to her website....it's somewhere stored in my favorites, just have to remember where :) |
