I know all the things I 'should have done,' so please don't rip me a new one. It hurts bad enough.
It wasnt a long relationship; but I thought it was great. He was so affectionate and we seemed so compatible. He dropped me, offered no explanation and wouldnt/will not respond to any attempt I've made to gain understanding or closure.
I got all the typical, "It has nothing to do with you" excuses, when what I really needed was the truth so I could move on.
The older I get, the more I remember how much the feeling of rejection totally sucks!!!
Anyone help??
WTF are guys thinking when they do this?
Do they not even have the heart to know someone is hurt or confused and at least consider how it feels?
:(

Have had this happen to me. Unfortunately, I have no pearls of wisdom that will erase the confusion, and you'll probably never get a concrete answer from him. Best thing I can recommend is to just tell yourself it's better that you found out now rather than much further down the road.

This will sound like a platitude, but you truly are better off without him.

Wow..Mine seemed so perfect too until he told me he doesn't think he could fall in love with me. Only two months and you want to tell me this? I am not stupid.

Hiya,

Sorry to hear that happened.

In my opinion, generally when a guy does that it's because he wasn't that in to you in the first place and maybe he found someone he was interested in. And if he got the feeling you wouldn't take a breakup well, he probably chose the "avoid all contact" route as to not have to deal with any kind of emotions. He's probably detached emotionally and doesn't do well talking about feelings and would probably choose to run away rather than deal with it.

Basically, it's a lot easier for him to feel nothing if he doesn't talk to you. Talking to you would force him to feel something and he doesn't want to.

At least that's what I think.

I would have to agree here. I was recently talking to a guy. Then all of a sudden, it seemed like he fell from the face of the earth. I told him if he thinks he will hurt me by telling me he is not interested anymore, he is wrong. He is hurting me more by not saying anything. He finally came around telling me that he just started talking to this girl he's been wanting to talk to for a long time. He told me that he still likes me and still wants to be my friend. I will tell you this...I would rather him get out of the relationship and date another girl than to still be in the relationship and him not giving his full undivided attention to me. I am so sorry this is happening. Sometimes if guys don't get what they want, they will walk away. It's just not cool. The only thing to do is hold your head up...breathe in and out...and say, "There is something better coming my way." Believe me...in due time...something will come. flowerforyou

I am referring to one in particular, but I know of several times this has happened - just to friends of mine. Its pretty common, but I know its not 'universal.'

Actually believe it or not this happen to a guy too, it happened to me last year. Things were going great we where obviously attracted to eachother, but then she just breaks it off with me for no real good reason other than 'we're not compatible enough' which was bs cuz she didnt really give 'us' enough time to figure out how compatible we really were. It happens to everyone. Just know that he was obviously not the one for you.

Hmm, he ain't worth it.
Get yourself a boytoy and make the world know you are woman.
No smallminded guy with his head up his @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ is going to bring you down.

He's right, it's not you. It's him.
Maybe he is so use to singing his bs game to little girls that he ran scared when he got his hands on a real woman like you.

Some guys can't handle a real woman who has more intelligence than a teaspoon.

Nobody can bring you down or hurt you without your permission.

although I agree it's a crappy thing to do...

I just have one question - does it really matter what he is thinking? he's gone and not gonna return... it's gonna hurt no matter what...

You are truly an idiot. I think I know what I meant. I have an English degree; therefore, If I wanted to 'word' my sentence a certain way, I have that right, dont I?
I told you twice that I wasn't referring to 'all' men; and for some reason, you are 'so interested' in my topic that you won't let it go. Perhaps you have a little too much time on your hands.
I'm sorry that my topic, which had absolutely nothing to do with you, by the way, has become such an important part of your life. LOL
Geez...some people....
