I have faith. I was raised to believe and still do. I have questioned why many times, (especially during college philosophy courses), but always came back. Just faith.....

Nope. I once got more in touch with my feminine side and found it was a dyke and loved women.

Always going to be religion of some kind. Man needs to feel like there is a better place after this life.

Did you guys enlist or were you drafted?
I served for 11 yrs in the US Army as a combat medic and then a training sgt. in an evac hospital. I know..just like you guys, what the deal is.
Gotta understand. If you havent been there you dont know what these guys actually go through, so give the civvies a break. There are a lot of patriotic people out there, and I am glad our young men and women in the service get the recognition due them. Better late than never.

Just out of curiosity...do meaningful overnight relationships count as dating or relationships?

Define meaningful overnight relationship, please huh

Hehe, depends on what you consider to be meaningful. Was jk of course. Meager attempt at humor.

At this point dating would be great but I would like to find a relationship eventually!!!

I know I probably sound like a broken record, but dating gets old sometimes as well.I go on a fair amount of dates. Seems as if the women I would find myself compatible with want more than I am able to give them in the beginning. I want to ease my way into a relationship in a more knowing manner this time around. I jumped into my last two marriages and refuse to do so again. Thats not too much to ask is it? Get to know each other before getting serious? I have two small children who I also have to warry about. I dont want them to become enamoured with someone if she isnt going to be around for the long haul.

Sorry to ramble....

If a relationship is going to come of something, I think most of the time they will choose to accept it no matter what their original thoughts or purposes set out to be.

Look at me...I was convinced that even dating was not in the cards for me at the time I signed up here, but was told about the forums and the friends setting and thought that sounded nice. But now, I'm in dreamy land over someone who I've become quite serious about. Who'd have thunk it?

More power to you:banana:

I think that most people are interested in a relationship, but only on their explicit terms. Uncompromising, my way or the highway type relationships, each for their own personal reasons based on their experiences.

Well, that may be why so many of us are still single then. I try to think that I meet the other person halfway. Problem is that it is really hard to find someone in my neck of the woods that can deal with someone that works all the time or has his kids. Lets see...you want tuesday night or friday night sweetheart?

Dating while working into a relationship....

I agree with Apasserby about this, because I see the other side of this theory so it makes sense to me. I love to watch people in love because it reminds me of the wonderful times I've had in my past. I have not really had a bad ending relationship, but can see how others happiness might conjure resentments in those who have. I think it's very sad...love is a beautiful thing to behold...even when you're not the one beholding it. tongue2

Hmm...they always say that love/beauty is in the holder of the behind. Or something like that, hehe.
