if you cant see the difference between killing an unborn baby and a terrorist there's no reason to have a discussion

What ever happened to Osama? I wasn't aware the 911 hijackers were from either Afghanistan or Iraq. War is very rarely justified in my book.

then when is it justified in your book

War should be a very very  last resort. Jesus said that "blessed are the peacemakers". I just don't feel that Christians should be so gung-ho about this war. Geez, Vietnam was a very unpopular war, as is this one. Not sure why I'm being flamed for being anti-war.

Because it gives people pride in bullying the smaller guy and stealing his oil.

Only problem is its dressed up as "the war against terrorism"

From the BBC
Israeli police have had to restore order at one of Christianity's holiest sites after a mass brawl broke out between monks in Jerusalem's Old City.

Fighting erupted between Greek Orthodox and Armenian monks at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the traditional site of Christ's crucifixion.

Two monks from each side were detained as dozens of worshippers traded kicks and punches at the shrine, said police.

Trouble flared as Armenians prepared to mark the annual Feast of the Cross.

Dressed in the vestments of the Greek Orthodox and Armenian denominations, rival monks threw punches and anything they could lay their hands on.

Six Christian sects share control of the ancient church and the BBC's Wyre Davies in Jerusalem says confrontations between them are not uncommon, but rarely descend into violence.

As pro-choice and anti-war exist, why not?

In the movie "V for Vengeance" the main character is depicted as Guy Fawkes.

The most famous line from the film is ..

"The People should not be afraid of its government, the government should be afraid of its people"

So when I hear people say these things don't harm anyone I say, Oh YES it did! and does!!! It is against the law & falls under sodomy laws. That may have been changed by the politically correct but nonetheless, it's against the law.

So is stealing and you advocate that. "two-faced" I think is the phrase.

As marriage is only useful for the tax implications and the inheritance rights, I can see why they are upset.

After spending your life with someone and then when they die to be denied the right to their belongings as you are not their "next of kin", is outrageous - just because you are of the same sex.

All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.

It seems that you want what you can get, but then you deny others the rights to it as well ...

From Robert Ingersoll
I do not believe that any man can be justly punished or rewarded on account of his belief.

But I do believe in the nobility of human nature; I believe in love and home, and kindness and humanity; I believe in good fellowship and cheerfulness, in making wife and children happy.

I believe in good nature, in giving to others all the rights that you claim for yourself.

I believe in free thought, in reason, observation and experience. I believe in self-reliance and in expressing your honest thought. I have hope for the whole human race. What will happen to one, will, I hope, happen to all, and that, I hope, will be good.

Above all, I believe in Liberty.

All of the above.

At least y'all got the right guy this time.

It would be nice if the "other" side, accepted with grace that this man is the leader of your country for the next 4 years (at least) and stop *****ing about it, because Quickie, you are getting boring.

...Shout out to Marget Thatcher! woot woot! drinker

As a Brit, I generally think that Mrs T. was great for the UK. Strength, moral fortitude and she had a grasp of geography, unlike Palin, or even Shrub when he first bought into the big chair.

Sarah Palin was a millstone around McCain's neck.

He gambled on youth and looks and forgot to see what was between her ears - which was very little of any substance that could have been used to further the US as a country.
The gamble failed miserably. (and for that I thank the lack-of-god)

It wasnt the total reason why McCain failed, but it sure was a double figure percentage.

I think people overlook that his Mother was white.
... having only 1 human race....forget color.

Absolutely.

Lets just hope that as a person, he can lead your country out of the doldrums and do what he says he can do.

After all, do we really need another corrupt politician controlled by big business?

No safety or surprise, the end
Ill never look into your eyes...again

As an American, have you had enough of the Presidential "race"?

Do you find it a bit too much?

Over here we are bombarded with it, so I can only imagine what it is like in the States?

Our election process normally takes between 3 & 6 months from calling an election to getting the next idiot in, and after that we are exhausted!!!

Just wondered will you be glad when its over?

Well now I'm confused... being a Christian doesn't mean we are dead. You don't have to be poor either...or ugly... or any of those things people WRONGLY perceive what Christians are.

I had a friend who was a really beautiful & sexy girl. She thought she looked like a boy because she was what some considered "flat chested." She saw nothing wrong with the skimpy clothing she wore because she didn't see herself as sexy.

Go figure???? Get it?

No as my question was in regards to modesty. If it's not important, it's not important. I just know it is spoken of in the Bible as being important.

It is my understanding that in some more conservative Catholic settings, women are not even permitted to attend mass unless their hair is either up or covered with a scarf or something. They arent even having the hair visible because it is considered "sexually beguiling" to the menfolks and therefore an affront to god. Even though supposedly he made everyone. That leads me to believe that this is a "Man made" regulation and has nothing to do with anything "divine" at all.

Another similarity to Islam ...

Women cover their heads to protect the fallabilities of men.

We men are so weak that we just fall over ourselves with desire about you women ...

no but he probably was the first carpenter to yell his name when he hit his thumb with a hammer.

it's funny though his name wasn't jesus christ, it was yeshua ben yoseph, the christ came later.

yeshua ben yoseph is literally translated into yeshua, the son of yoseph.

This is also used in the islamic world. Usama bin Laden

Usama, the son of Laden.

So by calling Usama bin Laden, bin Laden, you are actually giving his father a hard time, not him ... (not that his father hasnt got a lot to answer for)

Also you try hitting your thumb with a hammer and yelling "yeshua ben yoseph"
Doesnt do it for me, Im afraid!

Uh...I think the difference is abortion kills innocent life.

Self defense & hunting for food is not a sin. Do you have to eat to survive?

What's sad is people are so bamboozled that they can't distinguish between murder & self defense or sport vs. self preservation ????

But then you advocate breaking the law anyway, so what's the difference?

Abortion is legal and it give people choice. Just the way it should be.
