My boyfriend does.

And he pulls my seat out for me to sit down at restaurants too ^^ (if we're not in a booth)

My husband did the whole 10 yrs before he passed away. He taught my son the same, and my son has turned out to be gentleman. He will go out of his way to open doors for women, help them load their groceries into their cars if happens to be out in the parking lot. I think they are out there, just hard to find.

My ex-husband opened my car door when we dated. Not after the old ring got on the finger....
I, too, have been on dates where the gentleman asked what I wanted in order to parlay to the waiter. A little awkward, but whatever. If it's what he learned to be polite, I'LL TAKE IT! Have you been to a posh restaurant where the lady's menu DOESN'T EVEN HAVE PRICES? Again, awkward, as once, it was I who was treating....

Manners are the way you express your "respect" for someone!

I do some of that stuff but it don't seem that many ladies around my age care or appreciate any of it.

Opening doors, pulling out chairs, helping with coats, man on the curb side when walking, it's still all done. I do it no matter how long I'm with a woman. Acting the gentleman is not something done at the start of dating just to impress a woman, that's being deceptive. Being a gentleman is part of one's character and is a behavior that does not fade with time.

Well...
IF IT DOES NOT HAPPEN....I HIT THE ROAD.
I can open a door my self and if I have to do so then I might as well be alone.
My father raised me to expect nothing less My brothers do it for their wives and father expects that my man do it for me.
It is just respect.

I figured that was status quo for a gentleman.

Then again, some wimmens libber might deck you for being a gentleman! I opened a door for a woman once and she gave me the third degree about not needing a man to open her doors for her.

My last boyfriend ALWAYS did it for me...

We were going out one night and he opened my car door, and my neighbor happened to be out (I love my neighbor by the way) and he said "You open her door for her." my bf said "Look at her, and look at me, wouldn't you? Maybe that's why she dates me and not you"

My neighbor laughed, cuz we were all friends.... but it's true.
