Any girls/guys that are going to have sex... oral or otherwise... do yourselves a favor:

Don't just ask one person about what protects you and to what degree.

Do the research yourself, with not only a clinic (because they might be completely clueless), but with medical doctors... not just medical assistants... there are also online medical journals and sites like CDC.gov (center for disease control), and WebMd.com ...

Check out the info for yourself. Never base your beliefs off of someone saying something will guarantee 100% safety when it comes to sex. It is a beautiful way of bonding, but can be a deadly weapon as well. Always be aware of the risks and protect yourself.flowerforyou

personally i wouldnt take much notice of a medical assistant, no offence. in the uk, ALL patients are treated by consultants or doctors, no advice is given by medical assistants. i triaged patients, we have to, because some cases are urgent, like herpes has to be treated in 24 hours else the treatment wont work, and the outbreak will last longer, or if a mother has gave birth to her baby, and the baby as got clymidia, they can tell with the babys eyes, but were NOT aloud to give a diagnosis over the phone or even by talking to patients, a diagnosis can only be made, by a doctor looking AND by swabs and blood tests.

even then mistakes happen, we had a patient who was told she was hiv posotive, and they told the wrong patient. everything is done by numbers, not names, due to confidentitally, so mistakes can happen regardless. were only human.

If you are going to have sex use a latex condom and some sense. Otherwise you will definitely be in trouble.

I dont know if other people feel the same, but, to me whats the point in having unprotected sex that lasts about 2 minutes if your lucky, lol, then you have to worry for 3 months before you can be tested for hiv, to me 2 mins of sex, compared to 3 months of worry, just aint worth it.

Has anyone used the female version of condoms? It's effective but I've never even seen them for sale.

condoms are not 100%, nothing is except abstinence. That means no oral, anal or vaginal sex. HPV is the most contagious disease you can contract because a condom can not cover all the areas of the body. You should have only one partner and both of you be STD fee. Also, hope he does not cheat. There are over 30 different genital warts as far as sex. You can have several different ones at the same time. Statistics shows that by the time a woman is 50, she has a eighty percent chance of having HPV.

if you use protection you dont need to worry about your health. its your body, your health, so the decison is down to you.

That's a foolish statement... condoms don't protect you from HPV, and anyone who receives/gives oral is at risk for catching anything and everything.

Condoms do protect against HPV, if used during oral they are complete in their protection. They have classes to teach how to use them even during oral. I have been to them.

I've been told by doctors and have read in health books that condoms do not protect you 100% from HPV or any other STDs... not sure where you got your info from

your wrong. i used to work in a gu clinic, dont make yourself sound like a g.u.m doctor

The latex condom is 100% as long as it does not break and is not defective. The others are not as good. But latex condoms are 100% if used properly, faithfully and do not break or have a defect. Don't have to be a doc to know this just keep up with the information provided.

NOTHING is 100 percent, as im aware, warts, herpes are caught by skin to skin contact, you can get those by not even having sex, just cuddling up together.

Do the world a favor, learn to read ALL the words a person says before you comment. I said don't just use ONE source. Put a sock in it already! You're not an expert!!explode
