As far as Weapons of Mass Destruction are concerned, the International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed in the 1990s that Saddam Hussein had an advanced nuclear weapons development program, a design for a nuclear weapon, and was working on methods of enriching uranium for a nuclear bomb. He had attempted to purchase high strength aluminum tubes suitable for nuclear weapons, according to intelligence sources. Yet he had not credibly explained these activities.

It is no secret that there have been many mistakes made by the current administation, and a change is clearly needed. 20 years of Bush/Clinton is enough for anyone. But are some people so partisan blind, that they cannot see that there have been some really good things in the Bush era? Like there were a lot of good things in the Bill Clinton era? This is a President that I did not agree with 99% of the time, but I will admit he did some very good things. Can any of the liberal democrats lay down the hate for just a moment and say something nice or consructive? I would be happy with ONE comment.

WEll, glad it has FINALLY been admitted - Sadaam Hussein's atrocities against humanity.

But, US did NOT look the other way, the UN had sanctions against Sadaam for years, which Sadaam merely laughed at along with the some other mid east countries.

One main reason US finally went into Iraq, Sanctions after Sanctions broke, ignored, laughed at. Russia, France had too much financial and criminal ties with Iraq, thus they did what they could to let Sadaam keep up his atrocities while they, France, Russia looked the other way.

Well, just glad someone admitted to the atrocities of Sadaam Hussein.

Irish rocker hails Bush on Africa;

Irish rock 'n' roll singer Bob Geldof yesterday said President Bush has done more to fight disease and poverty in Africa than any of his predecessors.

Mr. Geldof, long an activist for Africa, was downright effusive about Mr. Bush during an informal meeting with the press yesterday near Kigali, Rwanda.

Mr. Bush "has done more than any other president so far," Mr. Geldof said.

" ..... George W. Bush is basking in rare adulation on his African tour," noted one ABC News account.

...The accounts were different among African news organizations. Mr. Bush was called "relaxed and charming" by the Citizen newspaper in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

"Bush at home in Africa, where the U.S. still shines," said the Namibian.

The Liberian paper also yesterday offered an account which showed that Mr. Bush also resonated with other entertainers besides Mr. Geldof:

"In a humid rehearsal studio, Liberia's pop queen is practicing her newest single - a song called 'Thank You' to be released on the occasion of President George Bush's visit to this African capital this week. Her head tilted back, her face wet with sweat, Juli Endee pulls the microphone close and belts out, 'Thank you George Bush,' " the account said.

It's not the first time Mr. Bush got unexpected accolades from the Irishman, though. In 2003, Mr. Geldof praised the Bush administration for clearly allocating funds for AIDS relief in Africa ....telling the Guardian, "Clinton was a good guy, but he did [nothing.]"
