I have lied many times in my life; I've called into work and said I was sick when I really just wanted to sleep in!

I try to avoid lying as best I can; but I still have those days I just feel like sleeping in (LOL); As far as asking questions or answering questions from friends-If my friend's ass looks as big as the Hindenburg in her tight, spandex shirt, and she asks does this shirt make me fat, I would reply yes, and try to be tactful. I usually don't ask questions like that; I know spandex makes me look fat!

But I believe people are going to lie; I think it is wrong to call off work by saying so and so in your family died when they really didn't. I don't see the harm in calling into work (on a rare occasion) and saying your sick.

every single time i have called out of work and said i was sick, i actually end up getting sick. guess that's God's way of saying stop doing that. lol

Even if you told them you have a biological infection it wouldn’t be a lie,…

After all, THEY ARE the biological infection, right!

Lying is only acceptable in certain situation. I tell people all the time I do not lie even to spare feeling.

Do I look fat in these? let me get some lard and a shoehorn and I'll tell you. No no I'm kidding lol even I'm not that mean but I will say yes they do make you look fat.

I'm not being mean honest, i was raised to believe that lying is never acceptable so it's stuck in my head now

my thought is, if you dont want to hear the truth, dont ask me!

Just remember, it's not a lie, if YOU believe it.

There's nothing wrong with taking an occasional "mental health day". Plus, if you are overtired, you won't be productive at work, anyway.

There is a difference between 'being a false wittness' and not telling the truth for good reason. God gave us common sense, look beyond the mere 'letter of the law' and understand what it's purpose is. My 2 cents.

Alot of hidden meaning gets lost in translation. I'm refering to commandments, but the same rules apply to our own Constitution as well.

There are literally millions of people who are thoroughly entertained each week by the lies that have been told to others.

Consider those who are so entertained each week by the televised auditions of "American Idol".

I would really like to hunt down some of the people who told those who auditioned that they were good and arrest them for lying.

However, I fear retribution by the millions I would be denying their weekly entertainment to.

Next time a "friend" asks "Do I look... Does it show....Do I sound.. or anything else personal DO US ALL A FAVOR and be truthful. The way I figure it, if they are a friend and they have to ask, I owe them the truth and I expect they want it.

I havn't lost a friend yet, however, some have stopped asking me certain things.

YES! good point, never really thought of it that way!!

If it was not...then what would our Father have to do but go bowling if no one lied..... this keeps him to feel useful...

I will add to my previous post that I would lie to save someones life, and I have taken "Mental Health" days at work
