why lie? is it going to hurt? yeah its gonna hurt, be a man and take it, me telling you its not going to hurt doesn't make it hurt less, it just makes you not expect it, then when it really does hurt your pissed because I told you it wasn't going to. all lying does is start problems

So those of you who "never tell lies"...what would be your answer? I think some lies must be told for the well being of others...from the most extreme life saving lie....to the "mmmm....this cooking is great"  This would be a sad ending

Simply a question of ethics, not really religion. What are your thoughts? Generally no, but there are no absolutes. It is a bit of a grey area and you'd really have to make the question more specific. For example, some people with terminal, virulent, and fast-progressing illnesses want or need to be lied to, as a mercy, a kindness. Not all, but some. |

If I lie...its because I am looking at whats most advantagious to others and not myself. I think if your lie is only serving one person...and that being yourself, it is wrong. Such as lying to miss work ( you bennifit, but everyone else has to work harder to fill your shift)
