...
GPS??? never used it. I was in a friend's car once that had the GPS on. I told the driver to turn left, cuz I knew exactly where we were going. the danged GPS said to turn right. dead end road, then we approached another stop, GPS said to turn right again. no right only river.
...

My experiences with GPS are fairly positive. It saves me a lot of thought (since my brain capacity is severely limited, I try to think as little as possible).

Of course, we have to take GPS with a grain of salt. At times, the maps that GPS uses are badly out of date; this may account for the problems you encountered.

wasn't my GPS.. I don't have one in my car.. not interested in one either.. however that was a lesson for the friend.. not to put too much stock in the GPS

if I've been somewhere once.. I know how to get there the next time.. even if the next time is years after.. I guess you cud say I'm my own GPS.. plus.. I have road maps.. real paper ones.. the kind you get in a book full of maps.. lol

personally I like using my brain..

Ohh heck now GPS I use it like it was my life line.. I have yet to have any issue except at times it will take ya the back roads that are not needed.. But it has always got me where I need to go..

Places I go all the time I'm good but with the way the freeways change around here I'm gonna use my GPS..if I have only been there a few times..

My grandson set it up on my new car so the directions show up on the screen in my car and talks to me telling me so many feet I have to turn etc.. Don't have to look at the screen for it gives you direction long before you have to turn..

Now I have to admit I love that feature..

And honestly anyone that thinks by using those apps lets the Government track ya, believe me if you have a cell phone or new vehicle they know where you are. The new vehicles have tracking devices in them that most have no clue about.. and have for a few years..

That is how my nephew found out where his car was his ex gf took.. All one has to do is report one stolen and the dealerships will give out the info..

that's cool about those new features..mine doesn't have any of those.. hey.. if GPS works for ya.. power to you! for me? not interested.. it has to do with not trusting the tech to give you the right directions.. with my luck, if I had a GPS.. I'd be heading to Alaska if I wanted to go a few towns over so..me'n most tech are not friendly laugh I HATE my mobile phone too.. feels like a leash round ma neck.. plus the keypad is so tiny compared to my desktop.. so I definitely prefer my desktop.. also.. my desktop doesn't try correcting every word I type laugh

my desktop doesn't try correcting every word I type laugh
I thought I would get a new phone yesterday, I am packing it back up today...lol It was correcting words as I typed and changing them! I tried to put in 'window', it took the w and then the i but then changed it to 'zi'... I was trying to figure out why the suggested words for wi would be zip code and zipper...lol I tried it three times thinking I was going crazy, then of course I put in a could of random words which got changed before they were finished also.

You are too far away to even reach your leg...
No, I was boxing it back up when I wrote that. I finally got it back in the box I think the way it was (it all fits at least). I will try and return it next time I am at the store.
