Be happy and grateful that the car is fixed and you finally have wheels...
as for the cost , I have gut feeling that your mechanic must have a thing for ya....but still needs some money for his time ... Give him the hug and a kiss ....just to keep him in good spirits . And if he asks you out for poutine ....go ....rofl rofl

I shud be grateful that the car is fixed?? the car IS NOT fixed.. he found the problem after me telling him repeatedly it WASN'T the transmission but electrical AND giving him a list of what CUD cause my issue, firstly.. and 2ndly.. he never FIXED it.. he disconnected the friggen wire/cable and left it dangling.. so dude.. would you pay a dentist just to tell you you have a cavity?? or would you pay him to FIX it.. ?? the car might work.. but it's NOT fixed! geesus noway you may not value your life OR that of others.. but I DO

plus if you haven't been following.. he's in his 30's (I'm in my 60's so twice his age and old enough to be his mother) AND he's married with kids.. I don't touch married.. never have.. never will..

pffft.. we don't need back up ta handle you Slim..
even the guilty will proclaim innocence if they THINK it'll get'em outta trouble... neither I nor TG are THAT gullible whoa

OT: to get Slim to dig his own grave (which he seems to be doing a good job at)

I think your call for volunteers went un heeded so ....u will just need another two...to proceed with your evil plan oh yeah I dont own a shovel two ...

OT : only here to see two ladies faces, when they realize I escaped the evil plot to bury poor innocent , lovable and honest Slim ....only to find the hatchet was the only thing being buried >>>>

I never made the call.. don't need to bigsmile we got this.. right TG?

muwahahahahahaha.. pitchfork diabolical maybe.. evil? not really.. (and no.. they are NOT the same whoa)

OT: to show Slim where the hatchet's buried.. look behind you bigsmile

so I just got off the phone with Chrysler Corp.. they have the part available just not currently in stock at their main location.. then I called my mechanic to get the part number.. he gave me the wrong info..?? but it is NOT the transmission.. so at least there's that.. the car IS fixed.. apparently.. the part needed HAS been replaced (not the gearshift control cable originally thought and NOT a wire?) and he'll be bringing it at lunch so in about 1.5 hrs..

I asked (to be 100% sure) if he'd let his mother OR his wife drive the car and he said YES, 100%.. it better work, he's been my mechanic for about 12-15 yrs.. but I still have a nagging feeling in the pit of my stomach.. I WILL be taking it to a friend who's retired with over 50 yrs experience as a mechanic, once he returns from his cottage up north.. which shud be soon enough.. as he's been gone since early June..

anywho.. I'm very anxious to get OFF this friggen roller coaster and get back to my regular, albeit somewhat crazy-busy, life..

mornin y'all.. well.. I didn't sleep more than 4.5 hrs so not a good nights sleep for sure..

seems, he called again, that he's removed the wire.. but can't find the replacement so is leaving it off?? I just have to be careful shifting into gear or park?? what?? but he wants me to pay him for finding the problem but not fixing it?? does this make any sense to anyone else?? cuz it sure as fug doesn't make any sense to me..

anywho.. my day is gonna be chit.. hope your day is better drinker

I don't need ta FEEL Clever.. I AM clever shades

oops.. made a few "quote" booboos.. (almost made another by just typing boobs)

"Zee":
Oh, absolutely. The humility really seals the deal.

A Freudian slip dodged by a single "b" and double "o's"; though to be fair, 'boobs' would have certainly made a memorable typo.

bigsmile I shoot from the hip.. I screw up? I own it.. and the freudian slip was dodged by double "o's" there's 2 b's in boobs LOL there.. I typed it tongue2

Good to hear about your "trans" problem.

You have a lot of critters around your house. Did one of them chew through a wire?

That's happened to me a couple of times.

I won't say it's NOT possible cuz yer right.. got lotsa critters round here.. but who knows.. all I DO know is what he told me.. faulty wire.. YAY what a friggen relief phew...

TG.. he'd be lost if I stopped supplying the OJ too laugh

GOOD NEWS.. FINALLY.. only took like 7 days and me busting my mechanics gonads while repeatedly telling him it ISN'T the TRANY.. it wasn't.. it's electrical.. just like I told him.. whoa men.. FINALLY he listened.. he could've saved me a few hundred IF he'd listened in the beginning.. I'll remind him of that tomorrow when he comes to drop off my car.. yup.. HE'S bringing it to MY home laugh that's how bad he feels about fugging up..

YAY..

Only here to find how odd it is, that two ladies cannot muster up any more volunteers to help bury Slim , who is totally not guilty of anything....but guessing they wanna get Slim out on his own to do God knows what with him ....hmmmm!

BTW I think I found that camera I was looking for ....its made in Japan.bigsmile

pffft.. we don't need back up ta handle you Slim..

smart gamblers know when to walk away....and I put myself in that category!!!
Kayaking on the other hand is fine but you have to know how to thread water or swim , in case you topple into the water....sketch situation ....life jackets helps , if you have one ...

first time for everything huh.. using "smart" and "gamblers" together in the same sentence..

I grew up on a lake so canoeing, sailing, boating, water skiing and swimming were our downtime pass times.. I've gone into the brink a few times with AND without a life jacket.. I'm still here laugh
which reminds me..

OT: tacking & heeling while sailing.. exhilarating..
