My son is married to a lady my age, they've dated since he was 18, now he's 26, it's odd to introduce her as my "daughter-in-law"...take it one day at a time and have fun...but if it starts to get serious, ask yourself if your willing to give up on having children or being a grandparent at such an early age, she'll retire at 20 plus years before you do... there are lots of questions, I know, my son now thinks about them now a lot... but nope...he didn't listen to mother, he knew everything..lol...

I have a friend that is 29yrs younger than his wife.. i thought for sure it would never work...but they have been married now for 16 yrs...so I guess anything is possible...Good Luck in whatever you decide to do |

Here is my advice for what its worth. What if you run into some of the people you know when you go out? Will u feel weird?
Will she? but 18 can go into 43 two times and if thats all you both want you are legal lots of luck |

If it feels weird, don't do it, and if you decide not to do it, please be considerate enough to call her and tell her you've changed your mind in plenty of time for her to make other arrangements. Don't do it by email, it's tacky- I had this done to me and it's rude.
Have you told your friends and family about her? If their opinion matters to you, have you thought about what they're going to say? I'm with everyone else who says you should just try to be friends with her, that's too much of an age gap. I've tried dating guys younger than me, and it wasn't nearly that much of a gap and it didn't work. There were other circumstances too, but the age was right up there with everything else and it was a big deal. No offense, but at 34 years old, I find the idea of dating a guy with a 1 in the front of his age pretty gross. Good luck to you anyway.... |

Yeah... I guess I am going out on a date with a 43 year old on Thursday. She e-mailed me and she liked my smile and my profile, so she asked if i wanted to go out. Now, i said yes because, well, who knows how it's going to work :P I could sure use some help on what older women want... if you ladies don't mind :)

i like to date younger men also but my son is 23, so i weouldnt date any one my sons age the youngest ive dated was 30, but my son loves to date older women he's 23 his girlfriend is 40 im just 2 years older then hershe's 17 years older then him an they get along great but see my son is like an older man trapped in a young man body so he dont care to much about going to kid partys hanging out he wants a family for himself she has 2 boys 5-6 and they love my son and he dont just sit in front of the tv playing games cause i raised my son well, for him to be just 23 he take care of his woman n step kids better then the real father did so age doesnt matter sometime it depends on the person.......so do your thang sweetie......Desi

I'm 43 & the thought of going on a date with someone my son's age?! Excuse me for a minute, I need to find a toliet to throw~up in>>> She's can't find a man her own age, really, please?!! i am 46
i do not feel 46, however i get several emails from younger guys- i tell them they are way too young i have kids and nephews their age and it would not feel right to me- goals, how you handle problems, experiences, etc are different |

Hey, if you both enjoy it and it feels good, who cares? Don't fall in love, though, because THAT could be complicated. I have to ask if the answers on here would be this liberal if the sexes were reversed?

i dated and ended up moving in with an 18 yr old guy when I was 40. He was mature for his age and we just clicked. We went to the mall and played around in Imaginarium, went to the movies, miniature golf and stuff. We had lots of sex and lots of fun. His mom and my daughter were pissed, but, they got over it. His friends accepted me and hung out with us. It was a great 6 months of living together and another 6 months of getting together at his place. He got depressed and that got old, so, it just faded away. I do not regret it at all.
He was a virgin when we first made love. He was a natural. I don't think I would go that young again. It just happened and it was all good after all. |
