Well.. the date was today at noon, so we'll see if our post starter comes back with an update. I think what many people are touching on here, myself included, is that it really does depend on the difference in ages. Certainly the maturity, personality and preferences of each person matter a great deal. But the issue is that they are at vastly different places in their lives. Sometimes an age difference can be too great. If it was 25 and 50 I'd have more positivity to exude, but unfortunately no 18 year old I've ever met is ready for any sort of definitive and lasting relationship. As we mature, we change. We are constantly growing and learning who we are as independent individuals. I would hope this woman already has done all this and is why I say you can't remove that "teacher" compenent. At 18, you need to make your own mistakes.

I've seen and been in a several relationships with women in their 40's, and eventually the younger guys immaturity becomes an issue, but it is always a lot of fun on a temporary basis.

I will be waiting to see what he has to say.

The main concern for me is whether or not it's intended to be a fling or an actual relationship. If it's just about sex, I'd say go for it if they both want it. But for a lasting relationship, I just don't see it. Like others have pointed out, your priorities are too different at those ages. I'll be eager to learn how it went too.

I say do what makes you happy. You are legal (barely...but legal) and so is she, so whatever floats your boat.
