Well, that had more to with the men's profiles, I guess? The ladies usually stay away from that part on their profile, they wait till the time is ripe and prefer telling it in person!

In my experience, when seeking intimate encounter is indicated in a profile, it's usually one that seems phony. That's a turnoff for me.

If seeking intimate encounter was one of multiple options indicated in a profile that looks legitimate, that alone would not turn me off.

Personally I'm not interested in meeting a stranger for sex. My intent is to meet a compatible woman, then develop trust and emotional intimacy that progresses into physical intimacy.

I don't understand why is turn off,sex make part of relationship between a man and woman,build a strong connection it holds 60,70% of relationship...how you saying turn off is sound like I want to puck when I hear sex,but is the most natural and healthy is make part of the life I don't understand why is turn off.

But I think the problem on a dating site with "intimate encounter" is that the person wants sex only. That's not the same as sex in a relationship between 2 people that love each other.
Especially women tend to look for more than just that. They want the whole enchilada not just sex.
So it doesn't mean that they reject sex and intimacy, they just want is with someone they love and loves them in turn.

Many of the ads popping up make the impression, Mingle is mainly a dating site for intimate encounters ... or is it only me, getting these specific pop up ads?

If not, I would've been long gone as I have no need for images of half-naked women. Plus if memory serves, most were animated photos? All that flashing and moving affects my head.

It’s just that I NEVER get/see any ads and I don’t use AdBlockers and use an iPad.

Nothing is flashing or animated. Just ads for other dating sites, those with a certain purpose.

Problem is, I have a 6 years old tablet, and these ad blocking apps are not "compatible" with my system.
