I know that sometimes we're in denial about our age, that's normal. But if you want to have a serious relationship with someone online, tell the truth. Sometimes it's all about honesty, not with the age, nor with achievements.

People lie in real life too. Like HappyGeezer I agree with looking local. IMO virtual love is nonsense till you meet.

It's all those people who say, age is just a number.

is amusing AF.

But, if they'll lie about that,
they'll lie about anything.

If you’re lying about your age, to me it’s like what else are you lying about. I don’t look my age, so most don’t believe me to be 42.

Why do people lie,
it's answer is only with the person an reason.. Depends on his/her current or past situations, as dating sites directly trusting blindly is making ownself fool

Now it's the ridiculous endeavor (along the same lines as "how do I look for 102") and denial to have more than 1 bacon and egg breakfast a week and justifying cholesterol level.

I chatted with a guy here 5 years ago when I was 58 yrs old and he was 56 but he now suffers with Benjamin Button syndrome it seems as I am currently 63 but he now proclaims to be 46

I recall when I was looking.
I seen quite a few opposite lies.
I had a date/age range for my searches.
Since I went thru menopause twice with women, I am not interested in experiencing that again.

What I was seeing is women who claim to be past 50 yet have photos and lifestyles of a 30 year old.
Granted, some women do wear their age well.
Even then, ya can tell from their photo and profile.
It gets more obvious when there is more than one photo posted on their profile.

I can understand a woman (or man) who lies to try to make themselves seem younger. But older?
Frankly I despise liars so they disqualify themselves for me at a glance.
I just moved on to the next one.

Then I got smarter and started looking locally in my age range and bingo bango I found someone just right for me.
Realistic honesty shines just as brightly as deceptive lies.

My profile shows I am over 100 but I am not insecure about my real age or unhappy with it. It is a personal choice I made not to post certain personal information over the internet. My personal information was hacked before and used against me monetarily and it took me so long to get things straightened out so I do not post certain personal information to protect myself.
