Then alternate the French kiss with a lip lock for a couple of times and finally end it with a few smooches.

So if I get it right, after some Googling as well... smooching is kissing without tongue, can be romantic and loving, and part of foreplay. As such it can go to tongue kissing which is more passionate, things go well it's sexually arousing etc.
