I prefer to shop alone but if Iā€™m window shopping, I like to go with friends.

The most expensive thing I bought (apart from my house) was a car.

When I was 17-19 years old, it was mostly shopping with friends or family. But it was fun then as I lived in a city and there were so many good shops! Then drink coffee together, lots of chatting and fun, and going home again.

Now I do most shopping online. I have to drive some 40 mins to get to a bit of a proper larger town and these still don't have many shops. Not like in the past.
And somehow I don't enjoy it anymore.

Except Amsterdam! Amsterdam is SO much fun! So many wonderful shops.

But... everything online. Except for shoes and jeans.

Most expensive thing, apart from a car or house and furniture... I think my citrine crystal.

Always alone. The most expensive thing, besides a car, was a sapphire and diamond ring and a latest mobile phone.

Group shopping or "dreaming" as a form of entertainment is being replaced by solo e-commerce. Fortunately, customer comments, ratings, and chat groups provide another form of social entertainment.

I think I would go to physical shops more often had I not lived in this backwater county. There are 2 larger towns, what we call cities, in this province, but they don't nearly have the nr of shops I'm used to. Not the kind I like either.
And the shopping centres there aren't set up the way that makes people want to go and buy. Often not next to each other and quite the stretch to walk from one section with shops to the next.
That doesn't invite.

And another thing... buying in physical shops tends to be more expensive.

There is a Saying The Quickest way to know a Woman is to Go Shopping with her.
I agree Online Shopping is nowadays Common due to Pandemic . But there is One Difficulty . The material You Order is not the thing you Receive , many are facing this problems and the Process of Changing it, takes a Quite Lot of Time .

Humm nope don't like shopping..

But when I do go I prefer alone..

Unless it is something I have to have I will find out who has it and go look at it to get it.. and get out..

Have gotten to where I even do some of my grocery shopping online for pickup the same day, so I don't have to go in and find it all..

I pay bils in person and do grocery shopping the same day, alone.
It takes a lot out of me and sometimes it is hell just trying to have the energy to put it all away when I get home. I have a bad health day (pain & sick) the next day.

Over the weekends, my gf goes to the store with me and we pick up whatever we want for the weekend. Tired but not wiped out I recover that evening.

I do other shopping only after I check the online store sites to see if they have what I'm looking to buy. Then, I go to the store and buy it and return home. I don't really shop to browse, I do that on the internet. I have all the local stores websites in a bookmark folder.

I'll be looking for a car soon. I'll preshop the internet to check for models I like then look at physical local lots to see what is available. I also watch for cars in yards and parking lots with for sale signs. I do my major purchases alone. Since I am buying it, I will decide what to buy. I also don't fall for sales gimmicks and bait and switch tactics. I set the amount I am willing to spend and look lower. I pay cash and buy outright. Not interested in paying off anything anymore. When I buy something, I buy to own. Title in hand.

I keep a list in a notebook of the stuff I am planning to buy each year. I note prices, models and locations. I set cost limits. I shop when I have the information I need to make a wise decision.

I don't like shopping. When I Christmas or birthday shop, I buy what I feel I want the other person to have at that moment. Its usually something personal that has meaning. I don't give meaningless trinkets. I don't buy what they need or want. I will shower children with toys tho.

I don't fall for sales much. Sales are designed to get you to buy something you don't really need. Sales at 10% mean nothing. A sales assistant can seal any deal with 10% so its not really special. However, timing planned purchases during annual sales is a way to save some money. I do go to outlet malls and deep discount stores but I am careful to buy only quality items.

I shop flea markets with my gf but I only buy things I am actually 'looking' for (mostly produce). I'll stop at yard sales and look (by myself) but buy only when its high quality, clean and low price. I buy little except food items at festivals and craft shows. I no longer go to carnivals or amusement parks.

I don't buy anything online until I purchase a throw away secured credit card. I don't put my banking info online.
I don't buy service plans or extended warranties. Mainly because I used to sell them and I seen how often they are used and the rig-a-ma-row of the hoops you have to jump thru.

I keep every reciept. I have reciepts for everything I have spent money on for the last 12 years. Sorted and stored. If there is no reciept, there is no purchase.
I don't buy out of the trunk of a car or as a special deal from a stranger.
I don't fall for bogo sales unless I have a need for multiple items of the same product.
I have no issue paying fair market value for any quality item I buy. I buy name brand and fresh foods.
I throw away or give away old stuff I replace and I buy the same brand and model when possible.

I don't shop very often and I dislike it a lot.
I buy quality so I don't have to shop as much, it works for me.

Depends on what you're buying. When it's clothes you can have that problem, especially the size not working out. I always order 2 sizes of the same item, send back the one(s) I'm not keeping. No waiting or anything.
I've had times where I ordered different types of the same garment, all in 2 sizes, with payment afterwards of course.
Received for some $500 in clothes. Nice and easy trying them on in my own home, sending back what I'm not keeping, and thus also not paying for.

And most things I order I know exactly what I'm getting, like books, oracle cards, crystals.

I've been online shopping for almost everything for some 15 yrs now. So nothing to do with pandemic for me :)
