What's the intended meanings for "Nudges","Winks", "Blow a Kiss"? Also, as a newbie, any tips for weeding out fake profiles? Thanks! I have been here off and on for awhile. I ignore the nudges, etc. I think they are "ice breakers" perhaps. Googling their pics normally shows who the scammers are, also broken english or not answering your questions that you have asked them. My general thought is 99% of my mail is from scammers. I hope that helps |

Pay attention to strange geography. Unless London is really in Scotland now ya, that's a good point! I had someone push(read "nudge") so I pushed back! then I had like three different names, four locations and like six different people's photos! wtf!? Good times! Like I said earlier, y'all on the forums seem real. I really appreciate you all....so far🧐🤣 |

What's the intended meanings for "Nudges","Winks", "Blow a Kiss"? Also, as a newbie, any tips for weeding out fake profiles? Thanks! Begin by setting your filters here http://mingle2.com/user/show_settings "Limit Who Can Send You Mail" by their age and distance from you. If they suggest moving to another means of communication within the first few emails, they have a hidden agenda, which usually involves requesting money. Stay emailing here in Mingle2, when you don't move see how quickly they disappear. If interested and live local then suggest meeting them just for a coffee, fakes do not want to meet up. Welcome to Mingle2 and good luck in your search. |

To ad to the above: set your ego aside and if they seem too good to be true, guess what? If they look like models, the pics probably are stolen from models. One thing that scammers never do is answer a direct question, we have other people here that are that way but they're just idiots not scammers.

Something many forget:
M2 and other dating sites are tools you use to find someone you can date. The actual dating is in real life. If you use a tool wrong, you get poor results. Meaning: you remain alone. Detecting scammers/fakes is a 'learned' ability. Luckily, the more you experience the better you get at it. Free dating sites are a great place to gain that experience because the frequency of exposure is higher. If you can realize that, you will quickly learn 'the ropes'. A good, honest profile will work for you. M2 is not a porn or sex connection site, there are other sites specifically geared to that. Remember, not every member is here for the same reasons as you. Set your own personal limits according to your desires and stick to them. Don't waste energy on dead ends. When messaging for a meet, ask the candidate specific questions they can only answer accurately if they live it. Example: weekly specials at the store, traffic issues during a recent construction project, this years local campground site rental prices. Something specific only someone who is who they say could answer. Watch for conflict in backgrouds of photos. IE: A cigarette burning in an ashtray and the person claims to hate smoking. Inconsisten locals in the backrounds. I live on the gulf coast. A picture of someone standing on a beach with dark blue, deep water is a sure sign they are not on the gulf coast because the water is shallow here. Look for conflicts in their interests vs their claims. If a candidate is 'suspect' do not contact them. Its like spam in email, once they have your email address you get blasted with spam. Too good to be true, usually is. Perfection is usually a lie. Rope in your ego. While you might be 'the catch of the year' in your mind, chances are you are average, at best. Approach potential connections like you would in real life. Take it slow, get to know each other in steps, use caution and common sense. Just in case you forgot: Don't get into a stranger's van, even if they do offer you candy. |

I usually weed the scammers out by the ones who start a message with "You're handsome" etc
The odd nudge is alright, but I think the wink and blow a kiss things are odd. |

assume everyone is fake until they prove otherwise...as a guy it helps to know famous models and porn stars when approaching foxy women as these are used as pics a lot of times or at least that's what a friend told me who knows about these things ;)
